University Cape Town Administration The most super service. On 29 December 2025, in desperation I sent an e-mail to professor Gumedze at the Department of Statistics, not expecting an answer before earliest mid January. Big problem. Due to circumstances I lost vital papers which I needed urgently. Professor Gumedze asnswered my e–mail in less than an hour with indications how to solve it. I followed it up immediately. 20 days later everything was solved and I had my replacement missing documents. I think it is excellent, especially taking into account that it was over the new year period.

The administration office is so overrated, for a school that is very expensive it’s unprofessional. All I asked was for them to give me an academic transcript and I ended up feeling ****med cause I had to pay R550 for something i couldn’t receive in the first place. I sent them dozens of emails and even called them and i wasn’t answered.

Very painful experience regarding the Faculty of Law and their short courses. I have been emailing them, which they do not respond to. Don't waste your time with their switch board- the person who answers is very condescending and you are left on hold for at least 20 minutes without an answer. All of this just to simply obtain a certificate.

On the 26th May 202, I paid an amount of R370 for NBT using FNB Bill payment. The transaction amount was deducted twice, I have been trying to get my refund from UCT with no luck. I have sent my transaction history reflecting the amounts but they say it's not sufficient, they want proof of payment. However, there is no PoP when paying a bill via the FNB App, other than the bank statement and the transaction History I have sent and was told its insufficient. Can UCT give me back my money please?

I just completed a short course of Advanced Project Management: Driving Organisational Success with The University of Cape Town, presented on the GetSmarter platform. My decision to enroll for the course was a strategic move to enhance my knowledge and be able to provide proof, hence why I paid so much money for it and spent lots of sleepless nights, completing the assignments. I completed in February 2025 and only got the confirmation of completion in April 2025 and my Digit Certificate was issued in May 2025. However, I find myself not being able to download my certificate and print it. Apparently I have to notify the potential employers to login into UCT Digital Portal to access my Certificate. Unfortunately, potential employers don't want to do that, they want my certificate to come with other certificates as PDF or hard copy. As a result no one I wheeling to go through all that hustle just to hire me, therefore I'm not hire-able. I guess the decision to enroll for this course was just bad. I wasted my money and time since the certificate is useless and is unable to do what it was intended for.As a result I wouldn't recommend anyone to enroll for this course.

In 2023 I app**** to study at the University of Cape Town for the 2024 academic year. I went through the registration process and unfortunately, I could not get funding so I had to cancel my registration for that year. Months later I was served with a letter saying that I owe fees for the cancelled modules. My question is - where will I get this money when initially I was looking to get funded for my studies. I have been handed over to FND Collections now and I’m not sure what to do because I have not ever studied at UCT. This is affecting me
