Refund and unprofessionalism
I app**** at VUT and was accepted,and they told me to pay the minimum registration fee.When I had to register I couldnt.They said the course it’s full 😡.Then I app**** for a refund.Its been two months and they said it takes 21 days.I am so annoyed .They are not professional,they don’t answer their phones.When you send them emails,when they respond their emails don’t have signatures.They are so unprofessional.

Refund and unprofessionalism

Shut down the so called law clinic that assist people without proper, thorough research
VUT shouldn't probably think of shutting down their law clinic, not only do they trace or do proper research thoroughly but they assisted someone who obtained a title deed *****ulently so. My sister is getting evicted at home due to their negligence of assisting someone who did a *****ulent title deed. My so called brother served his own sister an eviction letter from a house he never bought. But can we say, just because he has the paper out of 7 children means he is the rightful owner of my parents house. It doesn't even deserve a 1

VUT TERRIBLE GOVERNANCE AND ADMINISTRATION
I have mistakenly paid R18371 to the Vaal University of Technology (VUT) Research & Innovation Account on the 12th of June 2025 and I still have not received my refund to date even after mentioning this affecting my debit orders for the month. The Assistant Accountant, Ms Maserame Mamaseli does not reply to me emails or give me a timeline of when she's refunding me.

Poor service
I am extremely dissatisfied with the service delivery at Vaal University of Technology. The institution's inefficiencies have caused undue delays and inconvenience for students. Personally, I have experienced difficulties in obtaining my completion letter after finishing my studies. While some of my peers received theirs, others, including myself, have not. This has hindered my ability to pursue further education. I would advise prospective students to exercise caution when considering enrollment at VUT due to its disorganization and poor administration. Unfortunately, my interactions with the staff have been unproductive, with emails and calls often going unresponded.

APPLICATION PROCESS NOT WORKING!!
POOR SYSTEMS ARE FAILING ME, I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THE INSTITUTION SAYS MY APPLICATION FEE WAS NOT RECIEVED AND REJECTING ME WHEN I SUBMITTED EVERYTHING LAST YEAR IN AUGUST. Due a refund since 2022
I paid extra money in 2021 thinking I was going to do my postgraduate diploma in 2022. I ended up not going ahead with my postgrad and asked for a refund 2022, where I was told I can't get it back. Last year (2024) I got a statement which shows VUT still owes and I tried to get the refund of R5.638,90. When I called and sent emails, I got redirected to everyone and then my emails were eventually ignored. Unemployment rate is high, can the institution hire people who'll actually work, rather than keep those sitting around doing nothing.

Unprofessional ethic
Even though I had complained initially about the unprofessional ethic of the credit management , I wanted to take the time to express my level of disappointment in their services You cannot allow a student to graduate and then afterwards claim that the individual owes the school.

VUT CREDIT MANAGEMENT
This institution is not professional as they ensured me that NSFAS has to credit my financial account which was in arrears in 2023. I had paid a visit to the credit management office and they told me in 2023 leading up to my graduation that NSFAS is due to pay off my account. Which then they had granted me approval to graduate and attend the ceremony. Today , the 27th of November the credit management office contacts me via email and mention that they are going to hand over my account to the credit bureau without even investigating further on the matter. I refuse to pay anything to the institution as this case was assured to me that it will be handled accordingly.
