Van Zyl Maintenance & construction - non Conformance

VAN ZYL MAINTENANCE AND CONSTRUCTION in George - was/is registered in the name of BERNIZE VAN ZYL. On asking why not in his name was the excuse her husband, AJ van Zyl, gave that he had NO ID !

AJ VAN ZYL quoted R1 996 300 to complete the project and hand our keys. He claimed to be paid in advance. He breaks ground on 03 October 2017.

AJ van Zyl including his plumber, he insisted to use from Cape Town, plus the aluminium windows & doors contractor was paid R1.62m. AJ pertinently asked R36 000 to register our project with the NHBRC, which HE NEVER DID !

AJ van Zyl abandoned the INCOMPLETE UNREGISTERED building site on 13 July 2018, leaving us with the construction value of only R804 509 as determined by an independent Evaluator, MINUS various non conformances as determined by the evaluator and NHBRC, MINUS prerequisite requirements & registration costs to have the project legally registered with the NHBRC, MINUS building cost and time increases, MINUS additional living & storage expenses AND many sleepless nights and and etc.

The NHBRC hearing for this builder, AJ VAN ZYL also known as ANCO VAN ZYL, was on 27 March 2019.
