Varsity Studios Hatfield student accommodation
Varsity Studios, Hatfield student accommodation is the pits. The elevators rarely work, the water is cold in the evening, we get charged for the damages we didn't do and the admin officers are very rude. I wouldn't recommend it.

Refund not paid
Varsity studios has not processed my deposit refund till date. I app**** for my refund on the 3rd of December and the contract I signed states that it will get processed after 21 days and it has been 5months .I have checked with them for more than 4 times excluding the unanswered emails and calls. I’m told that the manager has not started working on refunds . The contract has been breached on their end and the irony is ,they literally lock you out of the building if you have missed a payment by a day because of the ‘signed contract’.

Affordable and conveniently located accommodation
Really affordable accommodation that's really close to Hatfield square so I save a lot of transport, and it's about a 10 min walk from prospect street entrance of UP campus. Their different room options give you a nice choice depending on your budget needs and the roof top area as well as the other entertainment facilities they offer provide a nice way to de-stress.

VARSITY STUDIOS IS A SCAM
One of the most horrible buildings under Feenstra group. This student rental is a scam on so many levels. In 2020 me and many others applied after the building was advertised and there was even a deposit special of R500 excluding admin fee. Moving in to the building beginning of 2021 was a struggle since the building was unfinished. We spend the first three months in a building that was constantly under intense construction, noise, dust, unfinished commune bathrooms... While classes where ongoing for most students. We were later ambushed into altering our contracts and maximizing any amount that might be awarded to us by both private bursaries and NSFAS which meant even if your monthly rental was less you would still have to pay more. This was said to be done to assist students with electricity depletion, those who had pay an overlap payment, meals from building canteen as well as other things unaccounted things... For those who chose not to use this surplus would have an option to make an application to get their surplus and deposit back to students, 21 days after moving out (end of contract). We endured living in this problematic building (our fault for enduring ", now it is 2022 and this company has breached all terms in our second contract. They still haven't refunded students their DEPOSIT nor the surplus from student accounts. All varsity studios employees are telling different stories (that is when they eventually decide to respond). Those who are dealing with student accounts are also not transparent with anything. If you are a student and value your mental health and peace. This is definitely not the rental company you want to contract with. They are scammers and they have they own pocket's best interests and not yours. Other issues *Electricity that keeps depleting on a daily *water storage problems. *Admin
