Best restaurant in Gauteng
For years our favorite go to restaurant for absolutely any special occasions. Birthdays, anniversaries or just a Sunday lunch. When we were headed their way we would phone ahead and they would have my favorite Meze platter ready for me long after it had been taken off the menu and my husband would have the sole piled high with prawns. Even after my husband passed away my sister and I would go there on his birthday and celebrate. The food, management, staff, all were absolutely great. Loved sitting on the veranda and watching all the people go by. Thank you Verdicchio and staff for all the wonderful memories you shared with us.

Best restaurant in Gauteng
For years our favorite go to restaurant for absolutely any special occasions. Birthdays, anniversaries or just a Sunday lunch. When we were headed their way we would phone ahead and they would have my favorite Meze platter ready for me long after it had been taken off the menu and my husband would have the sole piled high with prawns. Even after my husband passed away my sister and I would go there on his birthday and celebrate. The food, management, staff, all were absolutely great. Loved sitting on the veranda and watching all the people go by. Thank you Verdicchio and staff for all the wonderful memories you shared with us.

Excellent Mediterranean food and ambiance
One of my favourite restaurants at Montecasino in Fourways, the service and staff was great. The atmosphere always feel like a mini vacation. The food and wine is always delicious and waiters knows how to give good advice on wine and food pairing. Definitely my kind of place.

Excellent Mediterranean food and ambiance

Special ambiance, great staff and excellent food
We always feel special dining at Verdicchio. Hubby and I have been going to Verdicchio for just over 20 years and still enjoy the experience tremendously. Great staff, excellent food and lovely ambience and sitting downstairs is special. We do miss Tubby a lot ***

We always feel special dining at Verdicchio. Hubby and I have been going to Verdicchio for just over 20 years and still enjoy the experience tremendously. Great staff, excellent food and lovely ambience and sitting downstairs is special. We do miss Tubby a lot ***

Bad service
Very bad experience last Friday night at Verdicchio restaurant in Montecasino. Generally waitressing was poor having forgotten several orders and main courses arriving sporadically to the extent that some had finished theirs before others. The main complaint however that we ordered a prawn pasta (R265) and not exaggerating got the pasta (late) with a total of 4 shrimps not larger than 1 cm each !? Sent it back. Got call from owner / manager on Saturday morning acknowledging their mistake saying the chef said "wheels came off' in the kitchen on the Friday night and offered a R2000 voucher. Owner / manager has since said twice that she would be sending that through and appears she has decided to retract it. Nevetheless they will not be seeing us again and they must keep their voucher. Think the following morning call was solely for damage control and had no authenticity to it..... they have come across as a shady bunch to us. Poor show !

Such a fantastic experience all round
enjoyed. Affordable and good food. Great dinning experience, service and ambiance! A great place to eat. Verdicchio has large selection of wines to choose from. The food is rich and filling. Our son had the cheese wheel pasta. The waiter will come to your table an prepare the pasta it is a sight to behold, a must for cheese lovers. I had Kleftico it was well worth the wait, it was tender and flavorful. We also asked for a bowl of Ravioli even though it is not on the menu the chef was happy to make a portion for us. It was some of the best I have had. For dessert we had cheese cake. This is a must if you love cheese cake. It is made in house and is creamy and is the perfect way to end off a meal.

Lovely experience at Verdicchio
My partner and I had a lovely experince at Verdicchio. The 5 course meal was delicious and each course was served with perfect timing. The staff were friendly and wearing masks and sanitizing at all times. Perfect service.

Seriously lacking in service
Being my birthday, my wife took me out for dinner. We had been to Verdicchios before and really enjoyed it. This time however was far from that. The food was great as always and the dessert was delicious. The staff however.... from the hostess to the waiter. Unfriendly to put it mildly. As soon as we had eaten we were again told to choose dessert. When I said we would like some time to chat, the waiter gave us a glare. I would have understood had there been a cue outside waiting for tables. Unfortunately this makes the food pale. We will not be back.

Great food, Disgusting service
<p>Good Day</p> <p> </p> <p>Let me start of by saying that your food is amazing, the pasta I had is right up there with the best of the best, you give the likes of DW 11, Signature, Ten Bompas etc a good run for their money.</p> <p> </p> <p>What a travesty that the service we received was so utterly appalling. We arrived at your restaurant (with my friend) at around 19:10, “our waiter” showed us our table and gave us a few minutes to go through the menu, after which we placed our orders. We received our food some 15-25 minutes later from “our waiter”. We ate, finished our drinks and not even once did our waiter come back to check up on us, to enquire if we were happy with everything and if we needed anything or a drinks refill. The only time we saw him again was towards the end of our evening when he asked if we wanted dessert (this was probably some hour or so later after we had finished eating).</p> <p> </p> <p>We then requested the bill and tipped him “handsomely”, despite his shocking service. I then proceeded to let him know that we were bitterly disappointed by his service and failure to check up on us. His response as I type this still has me perplexed. He responds to us and tells us it was not his job to check up on us to see if we needed anything else, it was the job of the manager to do this. At this point I make it clear that this is not the job of the manager but HIS job, the manager is there to ensure things run smoothly, he or she is not there to ask us if we require refills or to constantly check up on us. He argues with me, in a very rude and arrogant manner and continues to tell us he did everything that was required of him, what we are requesting is the job of the manager. We again inform him that this is not true, the manager is there to oversee things not to check up on us (the manager did come a few minutes after we had received our food to check if we were happy with the food and (understandably) disappeared afterwards).</p> <p> </p> <p>Due to our waiters lack of respect for us and failure to take responsibility we ended up asking for the manager. The manager confirmed that INDEED it is not his job to check up on us, it is “our waiters” job to do so, his job is to ensure things run smoothly. I must add that the managers response to this situation was also bitterly disappointing as he did not take any firm steps, but merely promised to deal with this later on (whatever that means).</p> <p> </p> <p>We are truly disappointed and it is as a result of such an experience that we will not be coming back to your restaurant, your food is amazing but your service is revolting and the way your staff speak to your customers is highly unacceptable, instead of apologising and owning up he gave us attitude.</p>
