MPPT Chadge controllers infierior???
KZN, La Lucia: Two months ago my MPPT (RS 450 / 200) blew. To my surprize I found out that one of our neighbours down the road had the similar problem. His also blew. Aparently a bad batch coming from abroad. Local guys offerd to replace with 2 x 100 Mppts. It worked well for 3 days.. and guys what... one stopped working. Its now been a month with only half of solar charge going through to the system. Anyone else having similar problems? We are still awaiting VICTRON's specialist to advize?!?!!? R 750k investement with a limping system. No man!!

useless product
victron energy a total waste of time and money they cannot help resolve issue instead they refer you back to the technician that did the install even after you telling them the technician cannot assist hence the reason i am contacting VICTRON , the reply sorry we cannot help you soc is set at 5% and batteries will not discharge below 25% let thet be a lesson for anyone wanting to purchase victron

A Happy Alternitive Energy Story from East London.
Mac from Drawtech Engineering installed my Victron alternative power supply three years ago. I have been using alternative power for 10 years and Drawtech are the third supplier / installer I have used and are by far the most professional and reliable. Last week I picked up a problem with the Invertor and asked Mac to check remotely. He and Victron concluded there was a problem with the invertor and it would need to be replaced. The fault was discovered at roughly 09:00 in the morning. 24 Hours later Mac arrived with a replacement invertor that had been flown overnight to East London. Within hours the new invertor was installed with no cost to me. This was excellent service and I can recommend the use of Drawtech and Victron for your alternative energy needs.

Firmware Problems and Promotion of Partisan Politics
The Victron system installed for me by an official Victron agent/installer, works well, except there is an issue with how the Victron hardware handles what appears to be battery balancing by the BMS of the batteries installed, even though the batteries (BYD) are officially supported by Victron. (The BMS interrupts the solar output, disconnecting it, for a few seconds and for up to almost 1 minute at a time, sometimes as frequently as every 10 minutes.) The installer has come to the conclusion: That the issue comes down to Victron firmware and that "hopefully it will be fixed". So far, that is not the case. In Victron's VRM portal, Victron promotes partisan political messaging. Politics should NOT be mixed with commercial endeavours.

Great equipment and service.
I've had Victron solar equipment for 18 months now. Best decision I've made for a long time. It is working perfectly and I have had excellent service from my installer. It just emphasises the importance of having a reliable, certified installer. Don't try and cut corners and save money by doing it yourself. It will just cause grief in the long run. This goes for any brand of solar equipment.

Great equipment and service.
I've had Victron solar equipment for 18 months now. Best decision I've made for a long time. It is working perfectly and I have had excellent service from my installer. It just emphasises the importance of having a reliable, certified installer. Don't try and cut corners and save money by doing it yourself. It will just cause grief in the long run. Victron Energy Inverter
I bought an inverter from Victron and it was not working out of the box and they have refused to replace it. This was about two months ago and up until today, my inverter has been more at their workshop that at my place of work. Once again, I had to take it into their workshop yesterday as it has stopped working. This has been my worst spent money. I would not recommend Victron Energy to anyone. Worse after-sales service and very unhelpful and their warranty on their product is nonexistent.
