Violation of My Child's Privacy by Villiers Combined School 📸🚨 I am deeply disappointed and outraged by Villiers Combined School's blatant disregard for my child's privacy. Despite clearly stating on the school's Code of Conduct that NO pictures of my children are to be taken or shared, the school posted a photo of my child on their social media without my consent. To make matters worse, the under chairman took a picture of me and my child, which further highlights the school's lack of respect for our family's privacy. 😡 As parents, we trust schools to respect our wishes and the laws that protect our children’s privacy. Unfortunately, that trust has been broken. Under South African law, including the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), schools are required to obtain permission from parents before sharing any images of their children, which was never done in this case. I urge all parents to be vigilant about how their children’s personal information is handled by schools. Our children deserve respect, dignity, and the protection of their privacy. I am taking further action to ensure this violation is addressed, and I will continue to stand up for my child's rights. 💪
