What is important for me when you I to a printing company, the most important is our brand name, our logo and most of all our Pantone colours. And that is exactly what we did when we went to Vision Print in Pretoria to do our printing some six years ago. Up to October 2024, we had an excellent relationship with a lot of printing done with the same logo and the same Pantone code on colours. So in October, I asked for new business cards to be printed, a proof was sent and on the proof, there was a name change, which was corrected and then I signed it off. Only to find on delivery that the business cards printed in brown instead of Turquoise and Maroon. (our Colours) I immediately contacted the person who worked with me in designing the new information on the back of the card and informed him that this was not our colours, this was brown, as a professional person from Vision Print he apologised and informed me it would be corrected. During January I requested some printing of A4 covers to be printed and for some or other strange reason again the colors were wrong and the gain I informed Vision Print of the problem. Here again, I got professional services from Vision Print and they reprinted them in the correct colours, delivered the correct covers and collected the covers that were printed using incorrect colours. Here starts a story that shocked me, the person that I dealt with no longer dealt with my complaint in me following up on the business cards that were printed incorrectly by using a brown colour instead of the colours registered with Vision Print as our colours. I tried on numerous emails to get this sorted out the lady now dealing with my complaint was quite adamant that I signed the proof off and therefore if I want them corrected I will have to pay for it. What puzzles my mind is that the covers were printed incorrectly and corrected immediately, and the business cards were printed using incorrect colours and I was informed that it would be corrected. However, now it will not be corrected as I signed it off. To note, on the proof, there is no specification of colors and the Phantom colors that they used on not on the proof that I signed. It just shocks me to see that a company will lose a client that has been with them for six years for the printing of a mere R500.00 job. But obviously, we will greet them and we will find another printer and I really hope that they will rethink the excuses of just trying to get out of an R500.00 reprint. Regards, Neill Malherbe
