Woodguy of Guy McLaren's quote was accepted for carpentary worth to R179 000.00 on a new development with a 50% deposit and R10 000 discount for getting the whole contract on condition the R50 000.00 deposit being paid over immediately. He bought wood and showed it off to me. He delivered some of the cut pieces on the premises and start installing the carcasses. The kitchen cupboards he installed 110 cm height - not as agreed. Cut pieces did not fit. He took everything back and bring samples of stained wood to approve which was fine. After weeks- just before Christmas he arrived with stained panels and fit it and ask with a soapy-story an extra drawing for R10 000.00 which I paid over as well as an invoice of R2280.00 for extra work done.
After new year the worked stopped and he avoids me and were spreading stories. He is selling now some of my finished stock which differs slightly on what was agreed upon on street corners. What is recommended now for me too get back some money? Under standard carcasses installed on site barely estimates R10 000.00 and had to be mostly redone.
