WP civil contractors lack skills and an honourable work ethic
If there was a zero star rating that is what this company should be awarded. The only positive is that they are on time but that’s it. They came to fit a drain system into some outdoor paving. The quote stated a certain amount for materials and then labours costs. The labour costs were low but that's because they up the material costs. I was told a wide metal drain system would be fitted what I got was a narrow plastic drain fitted. I did a costing of the materials against builder’s warehouse prices and the cost of materials used was just over half the price quoted. So they bought the cheaper drains so they could keep the difference. I find this manner of quoting dishonest. The job was done very poorly - it is actually a disgrace. In addition to this they broke underground electrical wires. When i phoned to explain, in a respectful manner, what they had done was unsatisfactory and that now i would have to pay for an electrician to fix underground cable. I was cut off and they did not answer subsequent calls from me. Their invoice says there is a 4 year guarantee on work done. But clearly there is no guarantee. My advice is stay away - they do come in cheaper than other contractors but you land up having to pay more to have their poor workmanship sorted out.

WP Civil Contractors: Poor Tar surfacing & Tree Felling Job
WP Civil Contractors did Tar Surfacing and tree felling at my business. The job started out fine but I was eventually asked twice for additional money to remove trees. The owner (Washington) of WP Civil contractors says that he actually doesn't do tree felling but yet he quoted me for it. The owner of WP Civil Contractors was rarely on site to supervise his workers. On the second day of work they were 2 and a half hours late in which the owner said that he was fetching a machine. A machine was not seen on the second day. Eventually when Tarring began, they proceeded by leaving out the G5 gravel that I was quoted for but stated that they substituted this with thicker tar. I was not informed about this change. On assessing the tar surfacing, there was organic material (roots) that was actually sticking through the tar in numerous areas. They stated that they had put chemicals on them to kill them even though this did nothing to fix the holes now in the tar surface. In 2 large areas soil could still be seen and not even 10 mm of tar was covering these areas. I was quoted for 30 mm of tar and apparently got thicker tar. I have contacted the owner to fix the poor job and he continues to say he will come through but then cancels with excuses. So much for a 6 year Guarantee. I would not recommend this company if this is the work that can be expected.
