The maintenance issue is the greatest farce and joke of the decade.
1. The canvas is an external canvas UV rated 2. the canvas was installed last year August and was new 3. The current canvass damage cannot be assumed to be the same as the “1st incident” which was originally the reason given for non payment, you have conveniently changed your song to maintenance, I have SPECIFICALLY REQUESTED a guideline published by any authority in the entire world to say how one should maintain a 9 month old, exterior, UV rated canvass to be resistant to hail stones the size of golf *****, this entire issuer is BULL**** and you know it and so does the insurer. I will again Publish your response which is asinine and an insult to anyone’s intelligence.

Dear Mr Nicolas Brett We acknowledge receipt of your complaint via social media, in response to our rejection letter dated 24 May 2019. An assessor was appointed to assess the damages to your property and the investigations revealed, inter alia, that the damages to your roof was due to a lack of maintenance, gradual deterioration and wear and tear. We wish to draw your attention to clauses 4 and 5(d) of your policy wording wherein wear and tear are exclusions on your policy. Furthermore, we had requested proof of repairs for your awning. We did not receive confirmation of payment for the complete repairs from your previous storm damage claim wherein we had paid you R36,165.36 for the awning to be replaced. Our analysis of the canvas only showed evidence of patching done to same. You submitted an invoice from “GB Projects” and our investigations revealed that the same “GB Projects” never existed. Should you wish to discuss the matter further, you are welcome to contact me on ********** to arrange a meeting together with your broker. Trust you will find the above to be in order.
