Having never written a bad review on this site before I feel I must in this instance. Firstly, this is an online business and one expects easy online service. With online, all goods are sight unseen so companies operating in this space should expect returns and should have an efficient process to handle this. The Consumer Protection Act covers this exact issue.
I bought two camping stretchers from this company. They were delivered in a reasonable time but when trying to assemble them they were impossible to assemble, they both had the same issue whereby the second tension bar would not connect.
I immediately logged this with 4home and returned defective items at my cost on 12 December 2024, requesting a refund. After numerous emails to their accounts, they would not process a refund until they had received a credit note from their supplier, which literally only happened on 24/01/25. Firstly this is not my issue, my refund should have zero to do with their credit from their supplier. To add insult to injury they have not credited me the full amount, no explanation but I assume this is their policy. I am now engaged with them around whether the items are defective and why I am not getting a full credit.
So, they have lost a future client, I can 100% tell you that, they will no doubt respond with some nonsense that the goods were not defective. Well they were but even if they weren't, waiting 5 weeks for a refund from an online business to save a few bucks is genuinely not worth it. My advice, do not touch them and use a reputable supplier. Never again for me. Genuinely, thanks for a shocking client experience.
I will also be exploring my options under the CPA. Unacceptable that businesses operate like this.
