If I could give zero stars I would. Food was absolutely garbage. Not a fine dining restaurant. Poor service including management who just sit and the desk instead of doing their rounds and checking on it's customer. Even after complaining to the management all she had to say was I'm sorry. After taking one bite of the starter we paid the bill and left. There was no way I was gonna go through three course of that ********** food. Even though the food was barely touched and burned and tasted off. We were still charged for it. If you're looking for a fine dining restaurant go to oyster box, their food, ambiance and service is world class. My finance also left a review on Google and they report bad reviews to other people don't see it. Instead of addressing the issue.

Horrible. No hospitality at all. I went there with my husband and my baby and we were told that we couldn’t sit upstairs because babies or no under 18s are allowed upstairs only for me to go upstairs and find an Asian couple sitting upstairs with their child laying on the couch (******). Then after we had our mains we were shoved with the bill and told to leave the place because they didn’t want a baby there during their dinner service? Why didn’t they disclose that before we sat down because we were not done dining, we were actually planning to stay and have our dinner there as well since we do that at every restaurant we go to. This place is an utter waste of time and there’s trash and foul smells in the water surrounding the restaurant. Wow.

Fresh cuisine with beautiful presentations. Beautiful view of the harbor. Cooked with attention to detail and full of flavor. Among the starters, creamy shellfish orzo is a must-try, and roast duck breast is mouth-watering among the mains. If you have a sweet tooth, then you would have a hard time picking one from the dessert menu, as all of the dessert dishes are an absolute delight.

On the 8th and 9th of July 2022 I planned 2 events for my brother and my niece. We initially booked The Oyster Box for both occasions but due to a change in itinerary we ended up booking 9th Avenue for the 9th of July. The exclusive venue booking fee at 9th Avenue Waterside Restaurant is overpriced with absolutely no value. If you would like the worst private booking experience then book yourself 9th Avenue. These are the reasons why I will never recommend a private booking for one of their floors for anyone; 1. No reasonable setup times for decor 2. Strangers walking in privately booked venue 3. No PA system/ sound or event entertainment allowed 4. Too many restrictions for decor 5. Venue did not honour agreed setup times so we only had access to the venue to start setup 2 hours later delaying everything else and causing humiliation to our guests My worst personal bad experience with 9th Avenue is paying extra funds in error whilst making a couple of deposits to settle the event invoice and getting zero honesty from their end to communicate that I overpaid them. They allocated the funds to gratuity without my consent or approval. I paid cash gratuity to the waiters that served us but the restaurant kept the extra funds paid in error to themselves. I realised this error when Oyster Box Hotel had the honesty to advise that I had overpaid them with R200 and they requested my banking details to refund extra funds overpaid in error. Tipping in South Africa is a standard practice that I always ensure I do, however, it is not compulsory by law more especially since I was dissatisfied with the venue and I paid R80500 to entertain 35 guests. The restaurant refuses to pay the additional funds paid in error and I will be challenging the company legally as we incurred more expenses from vendors that needed extra hours that weren’t initially agreed on. The question is, did they even give this money to the waiters or keep it for the company? I am not the first to experience this, I know of someone that was also a victim to this unethical practice. I must commend the staff for doing a great job in terms of the food and hospitality. It is a great experience for couples or smaller groups but definitely a NO GO for private functions. There is no value for the exclusive venue hire of R25000.

I called 9th Avenue Waterside to make a booking and was told everything is done online and there is a deposit to be paid. I asked the lady on the phone what I must do if I do not have access to online booking, her answer was that only people with access to online are expected to go to their restaurant. Last week week I booked telephonically and a table was reserved! After supporting 9th Avenue Bistro for many years, we have decided to stop going there, the lady was impolite and not accommodating. What a pity!

Absolutely shocked and appalled by the service we received from 9th Avenue Waterside. The first time we tried to book a table and we were told that it was full using a different name, then when a friend of ours makes the same booking using his English name all of a sudden there are tables available. Then today we went without making a booking we walk in talk to the hostess says there were no seats available but we had seen them outside, then she goes on to say she didn’t wanna suggest it cause of the weather (mind you there was absolutely nothing wrong with it) then we finally get a seat and we waited for 15-20mins without service till we left. I couldn’t be believe them wow
