I find it unacceptable that I had to struggle 3 days to make a booking for the Valentines dinner. I sent a request on Sunday, to which I received an email stating the time and menu available. I rep**** to that email on Sunday, and all I got was the notification that the inbox is full. I tried calling 5 times yesterday, sadly to no avail. Once someone answered the said I must make a booking via Whatsapp, which I did as seen above. I am truly disappointed in Ala Turka. I will not recommended this experience for anyone. For a restaurant that only works on n booking system, this was absolutely pathetic.

The Ambience in this place is of absolute Romance! They make you feel beyond special and treat you like a King and Queen! Their cuisines make you feel like you have traveled abroad. A' La Turka Restuarant is just MAGICAL!

It is now more than a month after my son's 21st after numerous calls and follow up mails no reply. I was even told I need to understand she can't get to my mail as she is too busy with year end functions. So I assume as a paying customer my experience didn't matter. Hi Vannessa, As you are aware we had my son's 21st birthday function at A La Turka on Saturday evening, 1 December. It is with utter dismay that I am sharing the very poor experience we had with you. First off, we didn't just book the event without looking at a number of venues. However, as we had an absolutely amazing experience with my husband's 40th at A La Turka, when the restaurant was still at Irene Village Mall in one of the private rooms, we had no doubt it would be a night to remember for Marcè's 21st. As I am sure you will understand we all want the best for our children. We booked online and even went to have a look on 11 November to ensure it would suit a grand affair such as his 21st birthday celebration. On arrival Liberty wasn't available but another gentleman in charge showed us the private room. When we asked regarding the booked belly dancing experience to ascertain if there would be enough space for her to perform. We were assured this would be in order. We also advised that we had booked the fire blower. We were worried this would not be enough space. Again We were told no raise for concern. We also had a look at the main restaurant but was assured all would work in the private room. We were told and as per your website a max of 30 guests would fit. All excited we settled the last R3000 of the close to R 16 000 event fee. We were concerned about the grand parents and specifically requested table 8 to be set for them. Assured that this could be done and in fact it was even noted down in the reservation book. On our arrival on 1 Dec to set up, Liberty advised that we should come back at 5 to set up. We returned later even though there were no other guests in the room. No idea why we were sent away at that time. We returned at 5pm and at this point I saw that there were people seated at table 8. This was but the start of all that would go wrong that evening. Liberty explained that this table was booked and seeing as the grandparents were only 3 they would be seated at the next table. Not what was agreed. But in order to leave the other guests to enjoy their evening I humbly agreed. We set up and in all that time no one asked if we even wanted a drink. Only once we were done and I asked did Wendy get us a drink. The guests arrived between 6.30 and 7 all seated at 7pm. Thank goodness one person fell ill and another couple ran into car trouble and thus reduced the number in the room from 30 to 26. It was very cramped and I certainly can't see how you would fit 30 guests. At this point I am advised that the fire blower couldn't make it. I don't think this was even booked in all honesty. I had to call Wendy repeatedly to get everyone drinks and she was clearly overwhelmed. One waitress obviously not enough for the 26 guests. In fact two of the couples waited over 45 minutes for their first drink. Not acceptable and as stated leaving me running back and forth to the bar trying to get assistance. I then asked for the starter to be served which arrived an hour later at 8pm enough to serve but 20 people . At this point half the guests begging for more drinks. Some even went to the bar themselves to try and get service. There were not enough plates and not enough pita bread. I asked 3 different waiters that passed the room to help to no avail. By this time no one was having fun as we had to wait for plates and food. The frustration on my son's face clear, but trying not to show it as he knew we as his parents thought the venue was top notch. In the mean time the grandparents trying to order passion fruit and lemonade from 4 different waiters also with no joy. Grandpa eventually nearly slipping down the walk way to ask me to help get something to drink. I ordered it at the bar eventually. Again not acceptable, I am not the events coordinator for the night. I am a mom trying to enjoy a celebration. By this time the main entertainment starts with great music in the main restaurant. Some guests take a peak and ask if we will also see the fantastic show. To my embarrassment I exclaim proudly that we booked a private show. There we were waiting for the so called show we paid an additional R 2000 for. So finally I ask when we will we have our show and told that this will be after our mains which only arrived at 9.15pm. Again not enough plates. I request if someone can just tell us what the food is and told to wait . Eventually Wendy gets back with the plates but by now hungry guests started eating the food they didn't know the content of. These same guests asking how we came across his venue with such poor service. The guests tired of waiting for no entertainment and delayed food on the verge of going home. I finally find you Vannessa, at the bar- by this time I was all but composure not to ruin my sons party but on the verge of tears. I explained to you that this poor service was not what I wanted for the 21st. The belly dancer came through eventually after some guests had left already with a half baked show. Not a tenth of what the grand show in the main hall was with fire and dancing and interaction, showmanship. Also to be noted the video footage with the bright light in my guests faces being taken with a cell phone. Not professional at all. We paid for an hour, we got a few minutes. Certainly not even close to R 2000 worth - that was a slap in the face. The only part that really worked was the cake and song - thanks this was really well done. Thank goodness the food was great at least that much helped. In the end, I am just so shocked that this was nowhere close to the magnificent event we had a number of years ago. My heart is in shreds, this was my boys 21st, I can never get the date back or redo the party, it's done. It was supposed to have been an out of the world experience, all of the guests transported to Turkey on this magical journey which turned into a dissapppointing, low key function with great food thank goodness for small mercies. No special service, no belly dancing show, and no flame thrower. Embarrassing questions from guests on service, knowing that I host many events - all very successfully and my own child's 21st was this poor service, mandane dinner. My heart is broken, I can't go back. Regards, Lindy Good day Vannessa, The letter sent on 4th December refers. Your lack of response is noted. Kindly respond soonest. Regards, Lindy Show quoted text Hi Vannessa, Two weeks and still no reply. I don't know how this is acceptable I your books in terms of service delivery to a customer. Please advise. It was my birthday and my friends and I wanted a new experience. We went to this place and it was like going into a new world. The waiter was a little bit slow but we forgave him quickly because everything else was amazing. <br> <br> The food had my palate dancing with joy while my feet and hips danced with the belly dancers that were part of the entertainment. As we left (the last people to leave), the owner/manager heard it was my birthday and he gave me a box of chocolates to go. Overall, a wonderful experience that I would recommend to anyone.

We booked an event a month ahead.4 venue visits with the manager&numerous phone calls to ensure that they are happy with our private event.<br> The owner greeted us &we explained to him that it is a bachelorette as his management never communicated anything with him. When his wife found out about our event she started screaming at some of our guests. When I confronted her about this she was rude, screamed& said that she will not speak to me as she was never made aware of our function, i left to calm down. I then later returned to see we could continue this discussion in a mature way, this time she shoved her finger into my face. I defended myself by removing her finger away from me &then she called her husband (the owner) to call the police, he then threatened me and said he will sue me if I report this to social media! This was the most unprofessional & rude behaviour I have ever experienced &this all because there is no communication between the manager &owner. The husband later apologised for his wife's behaviour but she refused to apologise. By the looks of other HelloPeter we weren't the 1st to experience this revolting treatment. DO NOT ruien your evening by going there!
