Be very careful when paying deposit to this contractor

Received a quote for a small Clearview fence - paid deposit as requested. Work was to commenced on Monday 24 Nov, completed by 25 Nov. When arriving on site on Monday 24 Nov, the poles was planted, not aligning - a total mess. Spoke to the contractor Gerhard. He apologised and promised to redo next day - even offered a discount because of the substandard work. Next day he brought 2 workmen and left. I had to personally guide and assist them to do the work. Gerhard arrived at 14:00 to collect the workmen to take to another site. Up to today 4 December he never returned to complete the work or clear the site as per his quotation.
