Fridge repair, more like ****!

If you are looking for a reliable company to do appliance repairs (in my case fridge repairs) then I would highly recommend you NOT use AE Refrigeration (Bothasig area)!!! The technician (if you can call him that) arrived in his sandals looking like he’s about to go on holiday (but don’t judge a book by it’s cover I guess) and started taking the fridge apart. After a while, he told me, “I know exactly what the problem is”. He gave me a quote and said that the fridge will last several more years if he does the repairs. Some of the items he quoted for seemed “extra/ not required” but I’m not the technician so I went ahead. The fridge worked great for all of three days before it had exactly the same issues as before, now only I’m R2850 out of pocket. I contacted the company again and a few days later the same guy returned to have a look. He again stripped the fridge, damaging some components as it was frozen solid. After he inspected it, he said “I know exactly what the problem is”. He was then supposed to contact me the next day with a quote for the part needed but I have not heard anything from anyone at AE Refrigeration despite several calls and text messages. To save yourself money and bitter disappointment PLEASE DO NOT use this company. It’s unfortunate how someone like this makes one not want to trust or support the smaller business
