I had a great experience in Akeso. It was my first time. I didn’t know what to expect at first but I met good nurses. I was recommended by my social worker Rhulani Bopape. She works with a great team of the******s that consists of a psychiatrist, psychologist, a physio and occupational the******s.
I attended group sessions in the mornings with great occupational the******s and clinical psychologists that set the tone for my day and gave me ideas on burning issues in my life that I could discuss with the******s on one on one sessions. The topics are on mindfulness (wk1), emotions (wk2)and relationships(wk3).
I shared a room with 3 individuals, together we were 4. It can make you miss your space but focus on working on yourself and do the homeworks given to you by your the****** and you will progress nicely and heal. Even though healing is a process and journey that can not last 3 weeks but co operation with you the******s helps.
The food and snacks were good 80% of the times. I stayed for 3 wks and I recommend that you go there with a positive and open mind. Focusing on yourself and doing the work.
