Home Alterations Nightmare
Alpha Construction from Ruimsig, Johannesburg. Worst experience we have ever had. The poorest workmanship I have ever experienced. We had to redo all the home alterations they attempted to do. The project costed us double the money at the end. 30 years experience in construction is what Wikus claimed. It seems they get their subcontractors from the street corners. Every day they had different people on site. Most days they were there and we could not see any progress. We also experienced them as aggressive and argumentative when you express your dissatisfaction with their standards. They quoted to do the work in 12-15 days. We were still without a kitchen after more than 2 and a half months.

DON'T EVER USE ALPHA CONSTRUCTION FOR ANY BUILDING WORK
People please be careful, do not use this company for any renovations or building projects. I hired them, they are a team of 3, Mom (Helen), Dad (Wikus) and their son (Jaco). they did the most horrible job for me in 2020, first they said the renovations would take 3 months, they took 10 months. They ask for huge deposits and on my project they just stopped coming to work, they left it incomplete, like painted a house halfway! No communication, nothing! they even left their wheelbarrow and stepladder as if they were coming back. The biggest problem is that the house leaks and the roof is cracking badly, its going to collapse anytime soon. I have to engage someone to fix their work! Please stay far from these people they are BAD! I have pictures to back the above. I will report this to NHRBC as well,

Bad paint job by Mr. Christo Vorster (Alpha Construction)
Good day. I would like to share my story so that other people can be vigilant. I have mold inside my whole flat, so I needed to paint. As a single mother I could only afford to paint one room per month. I got Mr. Vorster's number from his mother who is on a whatsapp group that I was on. The first meeting went well and I received quotes from him. The price was reasonable. It was decided that the bathroom would be done first as it was the worst seeing that the steel roof was also rusting on top of the mold. The bathroom is not very big, two people can hardly fit so it was only himself and one worker to do the job. It took about a week to finish the small room, and upon investigation not everything was done as promised, the grouting was done only halfway as well as the silicone, the shower floor was not even touched, (all the grouting in the shower for that matter), the window frames were not painted and the windows not sealed properly. The roof looks like it cracked. I phoned him and he came back to fix it, upon arrival I paid him the rest of the money thinking it would be fixed. Stupid me! I sent a couple of photos to his mother who was the one speaking on his behalf all the time. He did however not return again to fix the mess. Four months later and the mold is bac****!!! I sent her a picture asking that she show it to him and ask him to contact me as he said it will last for years. Oh!! Some of the paint and sugar soap (that was not even used) was bought for the rest of the flat as well, he did however not leave anything behind. He has not contacted me yet after my last message but is seen often by other people around the area. Please do not make use of his service as it is unprofessional and of bad quality.

Wikus even got aggressive with me when I tried to meet with him to resolve the issues. Don't use them!</p>
