I would like to address your concerns and provide some clarity regarding the services and support we've provided.
First, please note that all our work comes with a two-year workmanship guarantee. The installations were completed, commissioned successfully, and signed off by you and your friends. Since their start dates, these systems have been functioning well.
Post-installation, a number of issues arose, most of which were unrelated to our work. These included isolated DB faults, earth leakage tripping, circuit overloads caused by non-affiliated electricians, changes in Wi-Fi connections, and generator issues. Despite these being outside our scope, we consistently provided assistance free of charge, something that many other solar companies would not have done repeatedly.
However, when we eventually had to request compensation for ongoing additional services, dissatisfaction started to surface. Despite our efforts to assist, many of the calls involved issues not related to the solar installations, yet we were continuously called to resolve them, often without our advice being followed. We simply couldn’t continue responding without being paid, which marked a turning point in our relationship.
Additionally, we went above and beyond by covering costs amounting to at least ten thousand rands (yes, R10 000) to repair wind-damaged panels, even though this was an issue related to the mounting manufacturer, not AM Solar. We responded within 12 hours, at no charge, as a gesture of goodwill and got all working again very quickly indeed.
When lightning damage occurred at the same site, we spent further hours replacing damaged equipment, despite all the required SANS lightning suppression devices being installed. In addition, when we informed you that the 3-phase load imbalance was affecting the grid-tie inverter’s performance, it was essential that corrective action be taken. Without addressing this, further visits were not going to resolve the issue. Again, AM Solar spent man, many hours on site investigating un-related issues and in meetings trying to explain all + more. All, without a related cost. We are still waiting for full payment on the services we rendered and as per our quotation. Without this payment, we are not prepared to continue or assist further.
In summary, we've continuously provided extensive support, much of it beyond what any standard solar company would offer. We hope this clarifies the situation and highlights our commitment to assisting you and when final payment is received we will happily continue supporting you.
