APPALLING SERVICE FROM A SPECIALIST PHYSICIAN

I visited this surgeon today on recommendation from a doctor at the NHC.

My appointment was scheduled for 11:15 a.m. I was called into his room at around 12:30.

I had to stand waiting for this person as I have recently undergone spine surgery. At around 12:15 I asked the receptionist if I could lay down as I had been on my feet for over 1 hour waiting.

When Dr Baars called me into his rooms this is what he told me 1 I have just had covid by the sound of your breathing it sounds like you have covid too. I said no i do not i have had 6 covid tests. 2. Why were you sent here with this sonar i have no idea what Dr ***XX is questioning. No investigations were made on your files for the CT scan you had done whilst you were in hospital. 3. What surgery did you have? I hope that you never had surgery on your back as back pain from gallbladder can mimic spine. I told him I had MRI done on my back and my neurosurgeon did the operation. 4. He looked at the chest CT scan and the report and told me if the CT image picks up gallstones then that is what it is. 5. He wrote out a CT scan request and told me to go and get this done at the Hospital. 6. He never examined me at all. 7. I was charged R950 for him to write out a CT scan request.

I contacted the doctor who referred me and told him of my meeting with this surgeon.

I definitely do not recommend him he is arrogant and rude sametime. Not only did he attempt to down my neurosurgeon but the referring doctor and the radiologist who did the sonar.

I am so disguisted by meeting this person and definitely do not recommend him.
