I applied for voluntary sequestration and was assisted by Arcadia law Chambers in this process. I paid them R7500 to handle the sequestration application and then paid them every month over 19 months into their trust account for my debt. My sequestration was granted by the courts in March 2015 and I assumed that all was sorted. I recently applied for Life Insurance and required a letter from the curator / trustee that I may proceed in taking on this new debt. When enquiring with Arcadia Law Firm on the details of the curator / trustee for almost a week I was eventually informed that a curator hadn't been appointed. Naturally I was extremely upset that I had paid for a service and almost a year later my money was still sitting in the attorney's trust account and none of my debt had been settled. I sent an email stating I need urgent answers and had no response for almost a week until today. I receive an email from Nicoleen Botes stating I should contact the Master of the Court myself and see if he can tell me why he hadn't appointed a curator as yet. Did I not pay them to sort this out for me? Their attitude stinks and I don't see how I will sort this out unless I do it myself!!
