We went for buffet Sushi at Asami's Cobble Walk, I am disgusted!! Terrible service waiting 40 min for our sushi order (and the restaurant was quite) my sushi came eventually with a (blow fly) brommer stuck in my cream cheese, so the chef tried to wave the brommer off and the thing was so deeply stuck they couldn't wave it off! Besides the blow fly in my food the flys was lying dead all over on the floor. Our plates was stacked on our table nobody came to take it, the waiters was having a ball chatting by the front door! Pathetic place! The restaurant is extremely dirty!! If I could I would five a -5 rating!

Oh my hat! What an experience! I love sushi but am now a pensioner so it is only a very occasional treat. On 1 Dec I decided to give myself a treat I would order sushi delivery. After all the Black Friday specials were still on. So I ordered a Asami crunch platter for R169 online from their Cobble Walk website! A big expense on my meagre pension allowance but I would get a free platter crunch as a promo!. I especially looked forward to the "crunch" part. I waited excitedly for the delivery. Then I received an email saying the order was no longer confirmed because they missed the order and my bank cancelled the trsnsaction. So I re ordered. This time it was confirmed. I received sms to say it was on its way to be delivered. Well when the order was delivered it was not sushi but chinese chicken with rice. HUGE dissappointment. I phoned Asami and eventually was told they took the wrong order for delivery. Eventually a driver collected the wrong order, went back to Asami and fetched the correct order. Well 2hrs after I expected to be eating my crunch platter it was finally delvered. It was no longer a tasty cruch platter but a soggy lumpy fishy mess. What a huge dissappointment. I certainly will not be ordering from them again!

The way regular customers are being treated at ASAMI’S COBBLEWALK it would seem like they are the only restaurant in the world that were not affected this passed 2 years due to COVID. Last night my husband and I went to ASAMI’S COBBLEWALK like we do every Friday night, same time. We book our table in advance, either booth 1 or 2, because it is the first and ONLY 2 tables available directly next to the belt and next to the kitchens which means that we can get all the freshly made sushi first. We know that these two booths are hugely popular and therefore we always make sure that we book in advance. Last night we show up, ready, on time and hungry. Just one problem…there were already people sitting at our booth. Enter JOEY, by the looks of it, a fresh-out-of-school-little-girl, calling herself manager. First she blames the customers for using our name to get our table. When one of the waiters, standing by, pointed out that our name wasn’t scratched out, which, I assume, means that we have not yet claimed our table, she blames the waitress, serving that table, for removing the reserved sign that she (JOEY) personally placed there. In hindsight we should’ve probably called the waitress over and asked her if this was the case, but I have a sneaky suspicion that a reserved sign hasn’t been placed and thus the waitress thought the table was open. JOEY then proceeded to just shove us to another table and we said no, because if any table would’ve been OK for us, we wouldn’t have made the effort to book or otherwise we just have to wait. No timeframe given. The thing is, if she just would’ve apologised and admitted that they made a mistake, we would’ve said fine and we would’ve sat at the belt and waited for the people to finish and then move to the table. We are not unreasonable people. Most of the staff there knows us and would come and greet us even if they don’t serve us. Once I ordered a chocolate spring roll from the kitchen and I got a vegetable spring roll drenched in chocolate sauce. We laughed the hardest and it has been a constant joke between us and the staff ever since. Unfortunately JOEY, high on managerial power, wanting to prove something to someone (God knows what to who) decided to give attitude and because of her unjustified behavior towards us, we refused to sit at another table or wait. So we left. You see, we love Asami’s Cobblewalk and we love the staff - they always makes us feel welcome, but JOEY ruined it for us and therefore we will never set foot in that restaurant again. Just because a little girl, called JOEY, was put into a position she has no business being in.

The worst sushi ever. Wait for an hour for our sushi order which wasn't even correct. The presentation was disgusting with the salmon roses all different sizes and thickness. Some had little to no Japanese Mayo on while others had too much. There was no passion or care taken in the making of the sushi. The taste was definitely not good at all. Will not recommend this restaurant as I am in the hospitality industry and I am very knowledgeable about sushi. Will not be returning there at all
