I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Auto Xtreme.
About a year ago I purchased a Ford Ranger bakkie from them, which was sold to me with a spare key. Shortly after the purchase, I discovered that the spare key they gave me does not work and is not even for my vehicle. I immediately went back to the dealership to report the issue.
At the time, they apologised and explained that the spare keys of two vehicles had accidentally been swapped, and that my key had been given to another client. They assured me they would contact the other client and arrange to get the correct key back to me.
Over the past year I have followed up with them several times. Each time I was told they would “get back to me,” but no solution was ever provided.
After a full year of waiting, the manager, Vian, told me that it’s not really a big issue and that their responsibility was simply to give me the key they received from the previous owner. According to him, if that key doesn’t work for my vehicle, then that’s unfortunately just how it is — even though the vehicle was clearly sold to me with a spare key.
I find this response extremely disappointing and unprofessional. When a dealership sells a vehicle with a spare key, the expectation is that the key actually belongs to the car that was sold.
This entire experience has been very frustrating and not the level of service I expected when purchasing a vehicle.
