If I could give this rating a zero I would. I went to barcelo at the Engen garage in Ferndale, Randburg and I experienced the most unhelpful employee. I get to the counter to order, the employee by the name of Vesaka not sure if my spelling is right but according to her she is the manager. We get to the counter waiting to be served whilst she has a long conversation with the ladies cashing at the front. We had to call her to come to take our order. We pay and await for her but she doesnt even tell us there is no paper in the machine nothing. She went to the ladies at the front whom cash for Engen, she was still talking so we went ahead to the van to wait for our order. As we get back we see a big policy written on the board if the customer hasn't been given a slip the meal is free, when I questioned this employee about it she said oh I didnt provide you with a slip theres your slip now then! With all the attitude. We asked her why is it not free if we didnt get a receipt? She said no you cant get it free and was arguing. We asked her for a higher authority number she refuses to give us anyone's number and starts to shout and scream which is very *********. Also if barcelo has a policy which is in bold print, they should be able to stick to their word.. Also why is bareclo employing such unprofessional and ********* employees! Im very unpleased with this specific individual and the services i received. I had paid for my meal so it's not about the money but you guys have a policy you need to stick to. I do have a picture with the policy and the employee or the so called manager for the bareclo branch at the engen garage. If anyone wants it feel free to message me. She tells u come talk to her higher authority tomorrow, must we waste our time, fuel and everything else to come see her? For her in the wrong doing. Absolutely uncalled for. I want to thank the manager of barcelos gateway Eugene. What a professional honorable man. I had ordered via Uber eats. Who did not deliver my order of 350.. I did not receive my order and lost my money. When I called in store I was told to contact Uber eats. After trying on the app. I failed I then decided to call in store. I spoke to Eugene. This guy told me if needs be he will come personally and deliver my meal.. Even though it was not his fault. The Uber driver never delivered my meal. Yet Eugene was empathetic. Kind. And respectful. He tried his best with Uber eats to either refund me or replace my meal After 1month I received a message from Uber eats that my refund for my order is being processed. Thank you Eugene./barcelos gateway for all your assistance with the injustice from Uber eats. It was not even his job, yet this manager fought for his customer and what was right. I hope all managers can learn from this gentleman. 100%to youvEugene

I actually give barcelos bronkhorstspruit 0 start.nothing was done well.no1, chef was not covering his head,and the food we ordered everything was burned.chicken smelled burning flames,garlic bread also burned,colslo was dry we had to add our own mayonnaise,no sauces where added to our take away.we saw this disaster when we got home,we stay 10 min away from the shop.i tried to call them on 3 numbers appearing on the resit,they are all not working.what a waste of R189.90.

Absolutely disgusted with the service and food from barcelos at phoenix stanmore ,I found a black persons hair in my shwarma upon sending images to the store manager he did not assist me in anyways,its day 5 and I have not gotten a call or message telling me how they are gonna resolve this issue ,tried contacting head office the line rings and rings . This business will surely fail as they do not assist their customers and their food is terrible .Guaranteed I wil never be supporting barcelos again .

Dear Barcelos Customer Care, I am writing to formally express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service I received today at your Barcelos branch located inside the Engen Watersides Convenience Centre in Newcastle. The experience was deeply frustrating and highly unprofessional. I visited the store between approximately 12:15 and 13:00 PM. While the lady at the counter was still assisting the customer in front of me, she asked what my friend and I were ordering, and moments later also asked the customer behind me for her order. She then called all these orders to the kitchen before any payment had been made. When I reached the till, I politely requested to change my order from a two-burger meal to a shawarma meal. She abruptly responded “No, the burgers are already ready,” and stated that the shawarma would take long. I questioned this as I could only see two patties cooking on the pan, and she responded again—with noticeable rudeness—that everything was already prepared and the order could not be changed. Despite my clear dissatisfaction, she continued to ask us to pay. Additionally, when handing our completed food over, she took the slips and did not give them back to us, which I found extremely concerning and unprofessional, especially since customers have a right to proof of transaction. This experience was unacceptable for the following reasons: I had not yet paid, and under basic consumer rights principles, a customer has the right to amend or cancel an order prior to payment. Taking multiple orders simultaneously while still assisting another customer created pressure and confusion. I felt cornered and rushed into finalizing an order I was not satisfied with. The rude attitude and refusal to assist demonstrated poor customer service etiquette and disrespect for customers. I request that this issue be addressed urgently, including an explanation of how this will be dealt with and what corrective action will be taken with the staff involved. If this matter is not resolved satisfactorily, I will have no hesitation in reporting this incident to the appropriate consumer protection bodies, including the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO), the National Consumer Commission (NCC), and the KwaZulu-Natal Consumer Protection Office. This experience has severely damaged my trust in Barcelos, and at this point, I highly doubt I would choose to purchase from your brand again. I look forward to your prompt response.
