Terrible Service from: Fires Edge/Firetecpro/Barnfire Projects

BE VERY AWARE OF THESE x3 DIFFERENT COMPANIES

The two main culprits go by the name of Narean and Pete. It also seems that Narean sometimes uses the name "Nicole". They have been trading under numerous different names such as Fires Edge, Firetecpro and Barnfire Projects. Due to their terrible reputation in the industry and from ruining numerous installations and jobs they keep trying to change their cell phone numbers and the name of their businesses as they think that they can keep getting a fresh start and that nobody will recognize them by hiding behind new company names.

Pete came out to install a Fire Place in my house in 2020 and the job was a complete mess from day 1. The fire place was not installed correctly and the waterproofing he did when installing was a complete disaster. It started leaking in the first week of installation. It was a fight to get him out to come and fix the mess he caused and to redo the waterproofing. After he came out and "Fixed" the waterproofing, it carried on leaking. I phoned and notified Pete that it was still leaking. He completely refused to help me and kept on making up excuses and avoided my phone calls. Eventually he answered one of my phone calls and told me that he is away doing work in Botswnana but I must phone him when he returns in December and he will come past and fix the leak. (Keep in mind the amount of damage caused by the rainy season to my roof and ceiling from the leak).

When I tried phoning him multiple times in December he did not answer or return any of my phone calls. I sent him numerous Whatsapp messages while he was "Online" but refused to respond to me.

I then phoned Narean to try and help me fix the leak and complete the installation that I paid for that her business partner Pete could not do. She told me that she hadn't seen Pete in a very long time and that they no longer work together(which is a lie as their new business brochure from Fires Edge clearly states them as business partners). She wanted to quote me almost R5 000 to come and fix the leak that Pete failed to do. I don't see why I have to pay an additional fee as this problem should not have occurred if Pete had just installed and did the job correctly in the beginning. Why must I pay extra for their mistake?? She eventually also stopped taking my phone calls and has avoided me ever since. The leak caused alot of damage and it caused my ceiling to sink and it cost me alot of money to get this repaired. I have to also pay an additional expense to get the waterproofing repaired. I paid alot of money to get my fire place installed and I cannot believe that they can treat a paying customer like this. I have seen other bad reviews about them on Hello Peter. I hope after reading this you do not even think about using them to purchase or install any sort of fire places or braai's. I really wish that I used a different company to install my fire place and regret having ever phoned Pete. I hope nobody else makes the same mistake that I did.
