On the 13 May 2021 I went to Bassas at 920 Inanda Road, Newlands and purchased building material to the value of R24005.84 which included a Kwikot geyser and everything was for delivery. When I got the quote, it was a list of the items I asked for and a final figure at the bottom. None of the larger items were shown to me. It was meant to be one delivery that afternoon but they sent the items in 2 deliveries over 2 days. When the driver Noelan arrived with the geyser, I asked him if everything was there for the geyser and he assured me it was. The driver and his assistant offloaded the geyser and placed it in The room where it stayed until it was to be used. When the roof was brought and placed, the builder saw that the space between the truss was too narrow, the geyser will not fit and decided to connect directly to the main building. I immediately contacted Bassas to return the geyser as it had been unopened and I could not use it. The owner Ahmed first refused to take it back but the said I could bring it in as long as its not opened and I have the purchase slip. I borrowed a bakkie and took the geyser the next day ( Saturday 29 May 2021). The guy came to take the geyser from the bakkie and immediately said, there's parts missing. I informed them, that is exactly how it was delivered and I was told everything is there. Junaid continued to take the geyser into the store and then did the paperwork. We were told to wait while they process it. A few minutes later they claim they cannot take the geyser back as The cap and book is missing so they won't be able to resell it. Needless to say a long wait for the driver , Noelan who did the delivery and an argument between myself and the man at Bassas started. The driver was first on his way from their store that was 5 minutes away then 30 minutes later he could not come then as he was busy with a client according to Ahmed, one of the owners. They had the audacity to ask me why did I buy the geyser in the first place as I told them I do not know what should be there and was assured by their driver everything was there. He claimed to have called Kwikot who said they will come and view the geyser at my house. He refused to take it back claiming we removed the cap and book. One of their employees said they never saw a book with it, another said this is what they do to everyone. He became indifferent and could not hear or see me after that. The geyser was R4250. Today, 30 May www I went to builders to have a look at what a Kwikot geyser is like and then came to know what cap is missing. I was told that cap is around R500 and they do not sell it but I could buy it at a smaller hardware store or find out from Kwikot themselves. Bassas doesn't show you large and sometimes even smaller items especially those that delivery is requested for, there's always excuses either making you wait indefinitely or the item is accross the road or another branch. If you were just given a list and don't know exactly what to look for in items such as a geyser these people will rob you. Especially when it is delivered, they seem to be sending reject items, taking out parts before sending or its done on route and they aware of it and just don't care. I would rather pay a bit more and deal with honest ethical people than Bassas. The public need to be aware of the kind of products and service you get from Bassas and then decide as there's a big chance it's going to cost the public a lot more in the long run
