Warning: Dishonest Business Practices, Filthy Workshop, and Technical Incompetence
I was contracted (via Torque Tuning) to perform a TCU clone on an Audi DL382 gearbox for Bavarian Workshop. The cloning procedure was executed 100% correctly using professional-grade tools. Avoid this workshop for three key reasons: Filthy Work Environment: The workshop was shockingly dirty, covered in oil and grime. It was an unacceptable environment to perform complex vehicle work. Technical Incompetence & Blame Shifting: When the second-hand gearbox they sourced was faulty (physically leaking oil), they immediately tried to blame my perfectly executed ECU clone. They demonstrated a complete lack of technical knowledge by incorrectly claiming I had programmed a BMW file onto the Audi TCU—which is technically impossible. I provided photographic and hex file evidence proving the correct Audi file and part numbers were loaded, yet they persisted in their baseless accusation. Refusal to Pay Suppliers: After agreeing to a call-out fee for me to return and prove my work (only for the vehicle to be unavailable upon my arrival), they initially agreed to pay the cloning fee but not the call-out fee. Now, they have refused to pay both invoices for the professional services rendered. I strongly caution anyone considering taking their vehicle here or performing work for them. This business is dirty, lacks technical accountability, and is fundamentally dishonest in its dealings with suppliers. Be warned.

be warned !!!!!!! Bavarian Workshop Wynberg & Pretoria the worst place to take your car to. It has been a year of back and forth,. Here I am with no car but paying a monthly instalment for a vehicle. MIOSA has finalised the case but they not cooperating......... RMI tried before MIOSA and they did not cooperate, then referred me to MIOSA but still the same thing. it is a long draining process and believe me you can save yourself such stress if you looking for headache and clueless people when it comes to cars, go to them. Leon Seckel the Workshop Manager will be waiting for you and ready to have your car destroyed. THE PEOPLE THAT SAY STAY AWAY ARE ASSISTING YOU NOT TO FACE WHAT THEY HAVE FACED. I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED.

Do not even waste your time or money! I wish I could rate ZERO stars for this company.... Nasty piece of work! They had my car from December 2024 to August 2025. After 8 months we were told to take it to someone else for more work, when asking for the parts they apparently replaced they advised it was disposed of, so no evidence of them doing anything! When we wanted to test drive the car with collection they wanted to refuse a test drive the Foreman of the workshop wanted to force us to sit in the passenger seat. I dont know how these people sleep at night they are a nasty piece of work and they just keep adding to the bill to bleed you for more money after getting fines with the car and **** about it. We were billed for the entire quote even though the car was doing the same it did when we took it to them... We were even billed for storage fees after the car was standing there for 8 months with no results. They added 1****M to my car's mileage and gave us an empty diesel tank when we supp**** the car with a full tank leaving us to find the nearest station as we could only drive 10km until the car was completely empty...

Useless - Do not take your car there!!
DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! If I could ate them a 0 I would have. They even blocked me on their Facebook Page! These guys are ****sters and useless. We took our automatic Ford Everest to them on the December 2023 and only got it back in December 2024! They insisted on us paying the full amount that was quoted, which my husband did pay. The car went in for a second gear problem and we were told that the 3rd gear was a problem as well. They kept on giving excuses as to what was wrong with the car and that they are trying to fix it, to make it a short story at the end it cost us money to get an attorney involved just to get our car back, a week under a year that our vehicle was taken in. We got it back in the worst condition. After taking it to a Ford dealership they did a diagnostic report and it reflected that the gearbox now has an internal gearbox failure and that the gearbox needs to be replaced, the cost to that is nearly a R133 000.00 and that after only the 2nd gear was a problem!! So please do not trust them at all.

THINK TWICE BEFORE U USE BAVARIAN WORKSHOP, U MIGHT LOSE UR PRECIOUS CAR
Only if there was a way for me to respond on their google review response! This company, doesnt know what they are doing, after they worked on my car and spoiled it, i took it to bmw for a proper diagnose, to my surprise the turbo they installed in my car was an incorrect turbo. So i was forced to take my car to them for them to change the turbo and they finished the car this time around. Same day an oil leak everywhere, and the car stoped, not starting, u cant put the gear on park, stays on neutral. A car that i drove to them. Now they say i must sign some consent from their lawyers to allow them to touch the engine……. This is madness……. I still repeat, if u want peace stay away from these people! I gave them a benefit of a doubt and regretted it. This time around Leon told me the workshop is his house and i cant make rules, and the rules was me politely asking the guy who was busy packing all the parts that they removed from my car. He panicked and rushed to the guy to tell him not to respond to me. And i am asking myself what is it that he is hiding or did to the car that made him panic in such a way. I watch my car in pain, being towed from their workshop….. If u dont want to have my experience, stay away!

Only if there was a way for me to respond on their google review response! This company, doesnt know what they are doing, after they worked on my car and spoiled it, i took it to bmw for a proper diagnose, to my surprise the turbo they installed in my car was an incorrect turbo. So i was forced to take my car to them for them to change the turbo and they finished the car this time around. Same day an oil leak everywhere, and the car stoped, not starting, u cant put the gear on park, stays on neutral. A car that i drove to them. Now they say i must sign some consent from their lawyers to allow them to touch the engine……. This is madness……. I still repeat, if u want peace stay away from these people! This time around Leon told me the workshop is his house and i cant make rules, and the rules was me politely asking the guy who was busy packing all the parts that they removed from my car. Do NOT take your car there - YOU WILL REGRET IT
If you love your car, do NOT take it there. They have no idea what those people are doing. For people who proclaim to be gearbox specialist, they suck at what they do. They may as well close shop. I wish I listened to people. I'm in a bind because of them to this day.

If you love your car, STAY AWAY FROM BAVARIAN WORKSHOP
FOR PEACE OF MIND, DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!!!! Let me give you a summary of my story because it is too long. Dealt with Leon Seckel the Workshop Manager. On the 13th of July 2024, I took my car here for a drive train error message, they diagnosed it and said the problem is with TURBO, WATER PUMP, FRONT CRANK SEAL, TAPPET COVER GASKET, SUMP GASKET, OIL SERVICE and COOLANT. They fixed that and returned the car after 2 weeks. 3 days later the car displayed the drive train error message and we took it back. They brought it back after 2 days, now the car came back with reverse camera not working, back windows not working and boot not closing. I asked Leon said they will not fix it, it is not their problem I bought an old car (this is BMW series 318i F30 2018 model currently on 126 000KM). I ignored that and a week later the car displayed the drive train error, Leon said they forgot to tie something, ok they tied that and I left, a week later same issue and stories after stories on their side, they sometimes they kept the car with them for 5 days, return it after and I will drive it for 2 days and the drivetrain error message displays. I had to go to their workshop every Monday for the same issue. Now on the 01 September, I took the car there same drive train and Leon said the Turbo is faulty he will have to call the supplier, I left the car and they returned the car on the 3rd with passenger seat belt not sensing when one has no seat bet on. Decided I will keep quiet about it. The 15th of September the car displayed engine overheating, I took it back and they said the coolant pipe is leaking and for them to fix it, I must pay for it. I sent an email to RMI because since I was driving this car with them for 2 months, they have to fix it. everyday when they have the car they drive it to Pretoria and back to their workshop in Joburg. Now something is leaking, I must pay? How because it was our car for 2 months. Now Thabani Ngwenya the General Manager who has never said a thing to me all this while, I don't even know him, he is calling me names "Loud Mouth", "Weakness of listening" ....... may be I should have not said a thing but keep paying them and they keep messing things and I just pay.
