This is not a personal attack, it is constructive criticism, which has been sent to Bayete, with out acknowledgement or an apology, when we asked to speak to the Owner of the spa, the finance manager told us "she was not in a good space about the situation" and he told us to post the points. HORRIBLE, AWFUL treatment from a SPA , a place you supposed to leave relaxed, calm and revitalized . The chalets/change rooms are nice, however the one gown had a hole in it. The manager and wait staff on arrival and at the "restaurant" are unhelpful, unfriendly and lacking in skill to interact with the guests. You are certainly not greeted with a smile on arrival and when you ask for something there is a slow, slumber reluctance to deliver. They certainly do not do you any favours. The breakfast was not great. The toast was half toasted and cold, the bacon looked like it had been boiled, served in water, and the fat on the bacon white. The coffee tasted watered down. After breakfast we then had to wait a while before the treatments began, why, we don't know ?? After waiting, we then started our way down uneven , dangerous pathways to start our treatments. Of the 3 the******s , Lindiwe was probably the most friendly and informative. We had to wait for the 3rd the****** to arrive, after 10 or 15 minutes she did arrive, the other 2 besides Lindiwe hardly greeted or acknowledged us, and it appeared to be a real effort to talk to us. Although the onus is on the guest to let the the****** know if they have ailments , I also think the the****** should ask the guest. They do a lot of pulling and tugging at your arms, legs and fingers, which is not at all pleasant. What we don't understand is why you have to keep going back and forth to the pool in between the treatments ( felt like torture to us) and keep changing rooms. It doesn't make sense to us and it doesn't make for a relaxing day if you have to constantly change rooms, especially having to tackle those uneven pathways, I would imagine it must be quite difficult for an elderly person or someone who has difficulty walking. We then had lunch, the fish and chips were nice, one of us had the lasagne, not at all great, we assume the lasagne had an adverse effect on her stomach as she had an upset tummy for two days after. We then had the hand and feet treatment , more tugging and pulling. The chairs that are used seem like old office chairs and are uncomfortable as you cannot put your head back, the towels used were coming apart and they looked very old and worn. During the facial, the one the****** was sighing and chewing gum loudly , the the****** then had to move the bucket of water and hit our 1 guest on the forehead as she was doing so ( a mistake). She didn't apologize or ask if she was ok. This is totally unacceptable. Its just common courtesy. Then one of the stones fell off the guests face and onto the floor, the the****** just left it on the floor, we had to ask for it to be replaced, and it was replaced with a sigh. After the facial, you lie on your back, 2 of us have had back operations, so we have problems sitting up, the the******s did not offer to help us, as soon as we got up the the******s started hitting us on the back, a brisk bashing on the back is not the way to do it. We did tip the the******s , however regretted it afterwards. No thank you from the ladies. When we left, there was no goodbye, or we hope you enjoyed your day with us, or have a safe journey back or was everything up to your standards. The actual skills of the the******s does seem to be there, but it appears to us that they are not coached and monitored properly, if they were, this letter would not have to be written. And the email exchange is something to be desired, the way in which the person addresses the guest is unprofessional and plain rude. On her email to me, there was no - Hello guest, Hi guest, good day guest, dear guest, I trust you enjoyed your day with us. She just put my name, and asked for the outstanding amount of R350..00 urgently. They are clearly on top of the accounts than the service they offer. I personally would not recommend Bayete Day Spa to anyone. If you want to feel on top of the world, or to feel like you have been pampered and you walk out feeling refreshed and calm and tranquil, this is not the place for that feeling. When googling day spa's , this particular day spa comes up as one of the top in 2020 ???????? Different opinions for different people.
