Hellopeter should have an option for zero stars. The only people who will retire well in SA are the family in this family trust. Please do not believe a word they say. Do not possibly consider that the "bad publicity" could possibly be untrue. Whether you choose any of the options - life-right or profit sharing, you will get payment "after 30 days" - but bear in mind, you might have to wait 30 years. And if you are in a position where you have, unfortunately, paid your last few rand to secure a roof over your head in your later years, maybe consider the following - whether you chose the life-right or profit sharing option - you will not get paid. If you think you will get paid immediately, be very careful. The only people who adhere to this extremely one-sided, pathetic contract, are the same people who handed their last hard-earned money over to the "stinking wealthy". The "stinking wealthy" does not feel anything for anybody. I suggest that if you need to move to frail-care or your life situation changes, you rather hold on to the house. You may rent it out and use the money to finance the next phase of your life. Also, don't let Belvedere / Retiwerwellsa know - you will be given a deadline to vacate your house, but you will not get any money in return. So may I suggest that you do whatever you have to to survive. Let's stop the next million from getting into the hands of the "stinking wealthy". Hold onto your house at all costs until the "stinking wealthy" litigate - they have the money, after all. You can just sit back and wait to "settle out of court". It will cost you nothing - not a cent to litigate. And until then, earn money by letting the house. Other tenants will be too happy to get the benefit of a lovely house without risking capital to the unscrupulous "stinking wealthy". This will, in turn, open up a whole new rental market in these estates. Financial carers can utilise the rental income to fund frail-care. Let's all turn the tables. Let the "stinking wealthy" litigate ... and remember, the “stinking wealthy” don't get the key to the house that you bought until you see the cleared money in your bank. Remember, you must also get the interest of the capital that had been invested in “an interest bearing account”. Also be careful not to give them a “blank cheque” in the form of an Agreement of Sale. Who in their right mind will sell a property to someone where the “purchase amount” is confidential? Are they (and us) crazy, mad and round the bend? And then, the “stinking wealthy” start “fixing” a good house, and the costs are for the “seller” and the confidential maintenance amount is just deducted from the confidential purchase price. (Then the poor maintenance contractors must also litigate to get their money). In the meantime, keep your money to yourself, don't advise the "stinking wealthy" of your changed circumstances, don't litigate, don't allow show-houses, bad mouth them where- and whenever you can. If we can prevent the next million from getting into their "stinking wealthy" greedy hands, we will join them in playing their game. Let them litigate all the current owners. If we all follow the above advice, things will change. I see the “stinking wealthy” have distributed a PR-attempt video (remember the smirk grin on the popular TV show?). In the video they lie about contacting the municipality and SARS. May I remind you that there should be no requirement to contact the local council for clearance for services figures. Why would they even think of using that as an excuse? Local council and SARS?? Really? Oh wait, there’s more, even Covid19 now is being blamed for payments outstanding from 2017? Really? Enough is enough. Belvedere / Retirewellsa and their next name must fall. For long enough have sick, old, frail, dignified, honest people borne the brunt of this deceitful unethical family trust. Take back your power, OWNERS AND FINANCIAL CARERS - please don’t be bullied by the “stinking wealthy” any longer. A contract is only a contract if you believe it is a contract and law is only law if it is litigated in a court of law – a lesson the “stinking wealthy” in this case have taught us all too well.
