Belvedere Retiment Villages

On the 26thh Feb 2007, my parents bought into the Wilgehheuwel Retirement Village a unit under the "Life Right" contract. Due to unfortunate illness, my father was taken to a Frail Care Centre in Novemeber 2017. My mother remained until June 2018 until she could be accomodated as well. The keys were returned after inspection and the "Life Right" cancellation of agreement was signed and handed back. The unit was sold in January 2019 and the new occupant moved in. We are 18 months down the line and get shuntted from pillar to post about the payment. Their attorney has indicated that payment will only be done after Level 1 Loockdown is lifted on instruction from his client. There are a number of old people out there who are today sitting with the issue, when will we be getting paid? How do I pay for my next retirement village? How do I pay medical bills? Who is going to buy me food? and this list can go on and on. But when you see what the staff members drive around in, money is not a shortage. OLD PEOPLE ARE BEEN ROBBED OF THEIR LIFE SAVINGS DUE TO THE BEHAVIOUR OF THE BELVEDERE TRUST. I for one do not recommend that you consider buying into the Belvedere Retirement Villages. there are to many old people who have not received the money.
