I recently purchased a carry box for my husband’s bike from Big Boy Wierda Park. When making the purchase, I specifically told the sales lady that I wasn’t sure if my husband would like it and asked if I could return it if he didn’t. She assured me it wouldn’t be a problem but suggested I buy it cheaper at China Mall, where returns aren’t allowed. I decided to pay more at Big Boy, trusting they’d honor a return if needed.
Nowhere on the receipt does it mention a 30-day return limit—just that there are no exchanges on electronic items, which this plastic carry box clearly isn’t. But when I called Mohamed, the manager, to discuss a return, he was extremely rude and even insulted both me and my husband. Contacting Big Boy Head Office also led nowhere—they said they couldn’t help, despite the unfair treatment.
I previously bought a Big Boy bike from the Centurion branch, where the team, despite some issues, genuinely tried to provide good service. Unfortunately, Mohamed at the Wierda Park branch goes out of his way to be unprofessional and unhelpful. I would strongly recommend against buying from him. Big Boy Head Office should seriously reconsider allowing someone with such poor customer service to operate under their brand.
