NOT EVEN 1 STAR WORTH! WARNING SIGNS!! We will NEVER EVER recommend anyone to go and work there, let alone use the accommodation! We send our 20 year old boy & his friend there. At first they were treated as royalty. Accommodation and meals were free and then suddenly they were "nothing". Where they stayed they did not have a basin to wash their dishes, they washed it in the same basin where they washed themselves. They had to wash their clothes themselves (which is not a problem) however it's where they washed it! They were told when they asked about meals or food money that they must stop eating meat and eat pap and sauce?! REALLY??? They had to do hard labor, marketing and sales all in one! Where did you see this before? It's an absolute other story if you are qualified to do so, however they were not qualified, had no training or experience for this. They worked from early in the mornings till late at night. Our boys are nor scared of hard work, however when the owner said that if they don't pack & sell a certain amount of crates they will be penalized on their wages/salaries, we saw red light flashing all Over What do they know of targets to be met? Yes they must learn about it, but there's a wrong way and a right way. This was WRONG!!! After a long and hard discussion with the boys it was decided that they will rather give notice and come back home. When they gave notice they were basically chased away and told to go immediately. She will book their bus tickets and deduct that plus R100 each petrol money from their salary and the rest she will give to them in cash at the bus stop Needless to say that they got nearly nothing. The maintenance manager will take them to the bus stop as she is currently in Europe.According to the 2 boys they, this manager ad another worker were the only staff left. Now she only has 2 workers left. SHE DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO SOEAK/TREAT/RESPECT HER EMPLOYEES. It seems like, and this is only a observation, that every 2nd or 3rd month there are new employees on the farm.SHOCKING!!!! So, please people be careful when you want to accept her offer of employment!My personal opinion is that it's hard labor at cheap pay!

What an absolute nightmare of a trip. This destination is definitely NOT 5 star. The food which is described as "fine dining" for R450 a head was a corn soup which tasted like cold porridge to start, a chicken breast the size of a baby potato stuffed with cream cheese and two carrots and a bit of mash and dessert was an old, cold and stale cheesecake. The WIFI was not working. There was no kettle for the minimal amount of tea bags left in the room. The coffee machine had to be used on the floor as it did not reach a plug. The bathrooms had no soap. The mini bar was not stocked. The signs around the place had been sticky taped on walls, printed in black and white and looked like it had been done by a 3rd grade scholar. When we expressed our dissatisfaction, we were told that this is merely our opinion and this establishment is five star. When we showed other bad reviews they told us that we should not listen to other people. After much disgust with the service and facilities that were provided, the owner told us she had given us a discount on the room. On our confirmation email, the room was R3k per a night before any discount (standard rate). Once we went to check-out, the owner hid away and made someone else deal with us. They told us that the rooms had been discounted from R4 500 a night to R3 000. When we showed our confirmation email we got accused of lying. After refusing to pay the full price as it was daylight robbery, they called a security guard with no uniform, locked the main gate so that we could not leave and said he had called the police. In the end, we paid the bill and left as we were not actually sure what there intentions were and were highly vulnerable being it just my mother and myself (two females). I am utterly disgusted with my experience and will never recommend Blue Mountain Lodge to anyone.

Skelm management mr Mike who i would like to meet again face to face so that he can grow ***** and intimidating me as he did over the past year after i did a breakdown for them on the N4 highway when Albert one of they employees was stuck.... Again trusting them because its a big lodge located not that far from me..... Mike promised me payment the moment he arrive at the lodge..... Apparently he never did being sarcastic..... Because he never paid tel me to **** of and stop contacting him because i will get blixem by him so i laughed at him and told him that he will only blixem twice the 1st time he will blixem missed and the 2nd time he will blixem to the floor..... Pay my invoice please mr mike moeg@#R&

I have worked at the lodge for almost a year. On my payslip it show that they have taken the uif off but after ending my contract I found out that they never paid it over to UIF so I can not claim now. They said they are busy with it but till then I can not claim or do anything

<p>A friend booked in Montagu through bookings. Com at Blue Mountain Lodge</p> <p>The place was frightening. The Walls were filthy, the Place had a fowl stench, the floors were disgusting, there wasn't proper ventilation the lady Sophia thankfully seemed to have no clue about my reservation. The guy who opened the door was scantily dressed with tattoos. I was literally petrified. Thanks to the hospitality and kindess of Carina at the 4 Seasons my vacation was not a disaster. I shudder to think how a credible platform like bookings.com would want to be associated with Blue Mountain lodge.</p>

I booked accommodation for 2 people and paid the deposit (check in time was at 10am). Upon arriving at 10:30am, there was nobody in sight to open the door and waited about 10 mins before I had to call the landline to notify them that we were outside. Our room wasn't ready and we were asked to come back in 30 mins. When we eventually checked in the room was in such a disgusting state that we decided then and there that we were not going to stay for the 2 nights as originally planned. The room was filthy, the bathroom ceilings were black with mould, the toilet hadn't been cleaned and a dirty wet towel was hanging there. The floors were filled with dust, the un-ironed bedding didn't fit the bed, the cupboard was tied with rope because the doors couldn't close. Kitchen was filthy and ill-equipped - how could anyone eat there? The place has an old stuffy smell. Outside, the garbage was piled up with flies everywhere, the pool was green! I have photos to prove everything. How can you run a business, with paying customers, and provide such unsanitary conditions of stay? The owner refused to refund my money too. This place should be shut down! Health inspectors please shut it down!
