Important Announcement Regarding My Recent Job Application Experience
On January 15, 2024, I had an interview scheduled with Bloem & Hofmeyr for a potential position in the solar industry with Stage Zero. Unfortunately, my experience with them has left me deeply disappointed and frustrated, and I feel compelled to share my story.
I was initially thrilled to be shortlisted for a Direct Sales Consultant position after being contacted on January 8, 2024. However, my optimism turned to dismay as the process unfolded. They requested a revised CV in a different format, which I promptly provided. To my shock, they later sent me an altered version of my CV and requested additional details, which I filled in despite my discomfort.
During the week, I was asked to supply 10 successful sales and client details, which I declined due to privacy concerns under the POPIA Act. Despite diligently completing the required forms and submitting necessary documents, my interview experience was far from professional.
Martine Hofmeyr called me half an hour before our scheduled interview time, requesting an early start. Unable to accommodate, we began at the agreed-upon time. To my surprise, I learned during the interview that my previous employment at Vox in 2022 made me ineligible for the position – information not disclosed earlier.
I am deeply upset by Bloem & Hofmeyr's unprofessional handling of my application, from altering my CV without consent to not disclosing crucial policy information. This has left me frustrated and disappointed, especially considering I am currently employed.
I feel it is important to share my experience on platforms like LinkedIn to raise awareness about Martine Hofmeyr and her business ethics. Everyone deserves fair treatment and accurate information when applying for jobs.
Thank you, Adam Brown
