Rented a truck from these guys. They did not receive my first deposit so I paid a second deposit, R8k x 2. 20 minutes after collection of the vehicle, I got stuck alongside the highway in a pretty dangerous area. I then phoned Spartan Truck Book a Bakkie Hire to come fetch the vehicle, all the while driving very slowly, having to stop every few minutes to my destination. Spartan Truck Hire begged me to keep the vehicle, they would send out a technician that evening. The technician came, worked on the vehicle until about 22:00. I then used the vehicle from 06:00 the next morning, 45 minutes into my trip, the vehicle started breaking down again. I phoned Spartan Truck Hire who said its my problem and I should then rent more expensive vehicle. I have now been waiting almost 3 weeks for my deposit back, always an excise, from accounts is on it, sorry we are in meetings, et cetera. Today they tel me that they are taking both my deposits as it is my fault the vehicle broke. I have photos of the door rubbers literally falling off of the door, holes in the door while I am driving. Basically the vehicle is a danger, which is exactly what I said to them on the first complaint to them a few hours into renting the vehicle.
