Bose can't repair because the FAA won't allow it

My QC35 headphones lasted 5 years with minimal use. The Bose representatives in South Africa say that they can't do any electronic repairs "as the FAA classifies all noise cancelling equipment as aviation grade equipment and as such are not allowed to action any internal repairs on such items". This is coming from the representatives of the brand that sold the best noise cancelling headphones in the world at the time!

Please Bose, tell me why I should buy the QC45?
