As a private company that supplies electricity to people, they really need to get to know the law. Our electricity meter has been blocked which means we cant buy electricity. Even if a Managing Agent should request one to block a meter in order to get levies, they should know better and do better but they never do. COJ and ESKOM dont block people's meters because they know its *******. Yet we have a company that endorses such. Shameful!

I stay at Comet Oaks, unit 151 and since moving here in October 2020 I ALWAYS get charged strange amounts when I purchase electricity. I lt started with a R100/R150 here and there then increased to R200-R350! We were advised by Alec Massel that we should inquire with the municipality (because mos it’s easier to pass the buck); contacted the municipal office with no luck as they ignored the calls and hung up on the ones they did answer. This charge has now gone up to R550…. !R550! Is being charged from my purchases while our unit owes nothing! @ Alec Massel, why did we pay R1500 in April for “meters”? where are they? And why am I know spending SO much more in electricity since you guys introduced them? @Bodacious, how can a SERVICE FEE for purchasing electricity be R100/ R150/ R250/ R350/ R550?? I need answers and I need them soon!! I also want ALL the units for all that money that I have lost thus far!

Illegal cuts This company is committing illegal acts they are blocking tenants meters which is against the law. The law states that no tenants power be cut by a third party subsidiary. As things stand, the landlord may not disconnect any municipal services and this includes water and lights. The Rental Housing Act is specific about this. Regulation 12 of the unfair practice regulations to the Rental Housing Act provides that a landlord who is obligated by law or terms of the lease agreement to provide electricity to a tenant must provide that service and must not cause the supply thereof to be interrupted or cut off to the dwelling without a court order. In other words, a landlord may not disconnect the power supply to his own property in order to force a tenant to either pay the rental arrears or to vacate the property. The worst part is the are cutting the power of people who have paid, them along with alec massel are cutting tenants power and when you confront them they tell you to call alec massel this is illegal and this should be dealt with legally
