I bought a windscreen today for collection at BSG Glass East Rand. I asked that the staff help put in the car for me and the lady who was assisting me assigned one of the employees to assist. Their employee broke the windscreen and went to his supervisor to apologize. As they went back to their warehouse to collect another windscreen (as I thought it would be replaced by them since it was their own employees fault), I was told that they won't replace it and I was charged for another one.
I explained to them to check the footage as I was in their premises and they said they won't be liable for the damaged windscreen even if it was done by their employee.
I felt it was done deliberately to try and get more sales because it doesn't make sense. I would have understood if it was outside their premises or if it was broken by me, but I felt they should have taken liability as it was their own employee who broke it.
The lady at dispatch was so rude and told me how they run a business and won't be replacing it. I spent an additional R900 purchasing another windscreen
