BUSAMED PAARDEVLEI - SHOCKING CARE BY STAFF IN WARDS

Absolutely shocking behaviour and care by Busamed Paardevlei staff. Many people have been complaining regarding the nurse care in the wards at Busamed and its sad to hear this based on the fees one pays and yet nothing gets done about it.

My mother has recently been admitted to your Medical Ward and to hear that the elderly get brushed off when requiring assistance is most disappointing. Even to get water from the staff is a difficult task.

We resorted to her carer going in to assist with cleaning her properly as their staff just don’t seem to care. I was there during visit hours and to even get a return greeting and information from Sister (Nurse) on duty was an effort until I physically walked to the counter as she would have continued to ignore me otherwise. They are rude, intolerant, do not care and quite simply do not behave in a professional manner.

My mother asked if one of the nurses could assist her in going to the toilet as she needed to defecate and was told to rather defecate in her nappy and they would then clean her. This is absolutely disgusting and unacceptable as well as completely degrading to one’s dignity. She complained the next morning and I believe they basically said that those who complain get ignored completely.

Then last night, she asked for assistance and then unfortunately wet her bed, she asked for help and they said your carer can clean you in the morning so she slept in her urine the entire night, half the bed was wet. Disgusting and completely unacceptable!!!! This is a ward for people who being monitored as they have serious flu are are border line pneumonia patients!

I sincerely hope you will take note of this issue and address this urgently.

It’s sad enough that people are hospitalised but one then would think you are in a safe & caring environment but sadly not.
