Bad pruning by BW Tree Felling
Brian came to do a quote - arrived on time, very professional. I requested pruning (proper tree surgery) of trees on the perimeter of my property to keep branches away from powerlines as well as the removal of one palm tree. I was very specific on the pruning and mentioned that I wanted it done properly before the municipality would send a team that would merely hack off some branches. When the team arrived (late) they only had a copy of the quote, without any specific instructions. When I discussed with the team leader, he indicated that he understood clearly. Pruning was done - but not in a professional manner. I might have been better off hiring one of the guys from the street corner. Overzealous, too many branches were removed, and some "coat hangers" left where branches were not cut back to the main branch or stem. The team leader told me that they had trouble reaching some of the branches as the ladder was too short... The palm tree was cut down later by another team which also cleaned up - this was neatly and well done. On the pruning, Brian made promises - they would come back to do some repairs - not sure how he was going to replace branches that should have been left on the trees though. As it turned out, they never returned. In short - cutting down trees seems to be their business. Pruning definitely not.

Bad Service and empty promises
BW TREE FELLING came to fell a very large tree on my property. On the 7th October 2025. Their men were great at their job, but did not complete the work undertaken. The site after one week is a mess one large tree stump has yet to be cut up and the site hasn't been cleared of branches. I have phoned and sent WhatsApp messages but just get empty promises. Yesterday, the 14th they sent a small Bakkie and trailer around to start clearing but they never came back to finish the job and they never brought a team to cut up the log. I have informed them if the site isn't cleared by today I will get other people in to do so.
