Bad pruning by BW Tree Felling
Brian came to do a quote - arrived on time, very professional. I requested pruning (proper tree surgery) of trees on the perimeter of my property to keep branches away from powerlines as well as the removal of one palm tree. I was very specific on the pruning and mentioned that I wanted it done properly before the municipality would send a team that would merely hack off some branches. When the team arrived (late) they only had a copy of the quote, without any specific instructions. When I discussed with the team leader, he indicated that he understood clearly. Pruning was done - but not in a professional manner. I might have been better off hiring one of the guys from the street corner. Overzealous, too many branches were removed, and some "coat hangers" left where branches were not cut back to the main branch or stem. The team leader told me that they had trouble reaching some of the branches as the ladder was too short... The palm tree was cut down later by another team which also cleaned up - this was neatly and well done. On the pruning, Brian made promises - they would come back to do some repairs - not sure how he was going to replace branches that should have been left on the trees though. As it turned out, they never returned. In short - cutting down trees seems to be their business. Pruning definitely not.

Bad Service and empty promises
BW TREE FELLING came to fell a very large tree on my property. On the 7th October 2025. Their men were great at their job, but did not complete the work undertaken. The site after one week is a mess one large tree stump has yet to be cut up and the site hasn't been cleared of branches. I have phoned and sent WhatsApp messages but just get empty promises. Yesterday, the 14th they sent a small Bakkie and trailer around to start clearing but they never came back to finish the job and they never brought a team to cut up the log. I have informed them if the site isn't cleared by today I will get other people in to do so.

Unreliable business
I read the other bad reviews about this business and how unreliable they are and I have now experienced it first hand. They are both unprofessional and unreliable. Made an appointment to come and see us. My husband left work early to meet with Brian and he didn’t even bother to come. I won’t give them the business if they cannot even show up for an appointment.

Unreliable business
I read the other bad reviews about this business and how unreliable they are and I have now experienced it first hand. They are both unprofessional and unreliable. Made an appointment to come and see us. My husband left work early to meet with Brian and he didn’t even bother to come. I won’t give them the business if they cannot even show up for an appointment.

Tree Felling
An avo tree was trimmed and done perfectly - no stumps left sticking out etc - and they tidied up beautifully. The foreman was Tsepo and is very good at it.. Well done. Will definitely recommend this company.

Tree Felling

Very Unprofessional with no respect for their Customer
I called Brian , Sent him Pics of our tree .He Said he could do the job , but only in a week .Ok ....On the Day , No one arrived , Nobody Called , I sent a Whatsapp and got No reply. I Called Brian who said his team is on their way , They didn't arrive .Nobody Called .The next day I called Brian , he said his team is dropping off wood and would come straight through. They didn't arrive , But don't worry Brian Apologised .I went with another company and got sorted the same day with Excellent Service . Do your self a favour and Skip these guys..They are not Honourable.

FELLED & POISONED STUMPS OF TREES PUSHING OUT NEW SHOOTS!!!!
January 2020 B W TREE FELLING removed 2 White stinkwood trees which were causing damage to a perimeter wall and a store room. After felling and removal of the wood, the stumps were poisoned with the brightest blue poison (which they also got over the pre-cast wall. Less than a year later the roots are sprouting again!!. I've emailed him on the email address on the invoice ..... no response.... emailed again asking for a response ... no response. Asked on their facebook page for a response .... no response. My only recourse now is to report this to my insurance company who chipped in for the job to be done - this was a R5000.00 job by the way, and recommend they be taken off their list of preferred service providers.

Left the job incomplete, rubble not removed and not answering calls.
Left the job incomplete with cut branches left stuck in trees dangerously above the ground. Did not take all the cuttings with them. After bringing it to the owners attention I've been given the run around for a week with the team always coming tomorrow. Now the owners not taking my calls.

UNPROFESSIONAL
I made an appointment with Brian from BW Tree Fellers and he was supposed to come and see me on Tuesday (Yesterday) and he did not turn up. My husband phoned his cell no. and a woman said she would contact him and ask him what happened and she would come back to me. She did not come back at all! Brian did not even have the courtesy of advising me that he would not be coming and I regard his whole attitude as very unprofessional.
