WHATEVER YOU DO, DON't BUY A CANDY APPLIANCE

I love my Candy tumble dryer BUT I can't say the same about the company behind it. I wish I can complain about the service from Candy SA, but alas, THERE IS NO SERVICE WHATSOEVER! I live in Durban, its hot and humid here and its rains a a lot, therefore a tumble dryer is not a luxury, its a necessity. After looking at various brands we opted for the Candy because it has this wonderful feature - it doesn't blow hot air out whilst drying the clothes, adding more heat an humidity to the home, it catches the water up in a water container and only an itsy bitsy bit of hot air is added to the existing heat. It works like a charm, honestly. But no our water container is shot. First it cracked, which made it leaked. We fixed it with ducktape - don't judge. But then I opened the door to the tumble dryer and the container fell on the floor - accidents happen. The clip on top of the container shattered. NOWHERE IN SA CAN WE FIND A SPARE! I will say this again NOWEHERE IN SA CAN WE FIND A SPARE! We called Candy SA ,,, since November 2024 they are 'expecting' parts from ... the moon? Mars? Jupiter? The next galaxy? A number of retailers sell the Candy make, but NONE has back-up service for parts! HOW DO YOU SELL SOMETHING YOU CANT SERVICE? I have a wonderful tumble dryer, who works perfectly if it has its water container ... only a water container ... and now I have to buy another one for in case you missed it NOWHERE IN SA WE CAN FIND A WATER CONTAINER FOR OUR CANDY. Please safe yourself a lot of money and stress and frustration. Candy is a great product, but it can't be maintained, if anything breaks, you will need to replace it. STAY AWAY FROM CANDY!
