I am a paying Canva user and I am extremely disappointed in the way Canva has handled the rollout of its new video editor. The previous Canva video editor was simple, intuitive, and effective. I had mastered it and produced excellent work using its drag-and-drop, scene-based approach. Without proper warning or a real opt-out, Canva replaced this stable tool with a beta video editor that is not functioning reliably. Paying users are now being forced to work in a beta environment with noticeable glitches, instability, and workflow disruptions — while still meeting real deadlines. This is unacceptable. Beta software should be optional, not imposed on customers who rely on the platform for professional output. What makes this especially disappointing is that Canva removed choice. A responsible rollout would have allowed users to: stay on the old editor, opt into the new version voluntarily, and be offered proper training or guidance. Instead, loyal users were left to troubleshoot unfinished software under time pressure. I currently have deadlines and am being forced to learn a new system that does not yet work properly. This change feels like a regression, not an improvement. Canva built its reputation on simplicity and accessibility — and this update undermines that trust. I am raising this complaint because paying customers deserve stability, transparency, and respect — not to be treated as test subjects for unfinished features.
