I have a brand new Polo which I purchased from a dealership in Vredenburg. I recently moved to Cape Town, which meant taking the car for its 15k service had to be done here. Cape City was the only one available, so I took it to them.

Excellent on the welcoming, booking, etc. After the service the customer service department kept hassleing me though.

A week later I realised that the aircon is not working so I phoned them and they said the sales agent will contact me. 5 days later I was still waiting, so I phoned them again and I 'magically' got through to the agaent. I explained my aircon does not work, the light goes on but no click sound or cold air comes through. The agent then told me that this was not part of the service it was booked for, and that I will have to pay for this.

Now to my understanding of a brand new 9-month old car this is part of the warranty on the car, right??

Also they didnt even bother listening, I was just told that it will cost me over R900 to diagnose the problem and the rest will add up to the bill, and the auto-elec is on leave and the will only be help me at the end of June. Really now??

So this morning I phoned my dealership in vredenburg in which I purchased the car and there I was immidiately told that this is warranty service and that they will organise the service with a dealer near me in Cape Town.

Excellent Vredenburg VW!!! Thats how it is done.

As for Cape City VW, I would not recommend them to anyone. Quick on money taking, last in the qeue for service!!!
