Cape Vildal Resort

We were booked in for camping from 7 to 19 Feb 2021. First I really battled to book accommodation with them. The first time I phoned in October 2020 and was told to phone back in December, when I phoned in December they told me to phone back in January as there will be plenty of space in February. In January I tried numerous times to book - by phone and e-mail and nobody ever responded. Then eventually someone answered the phone and I was told to send a mail concerning the booking after a couple of day had passed after sending the mail I phoned again and then I was told they are very busy, they will come back to me. Eventually they phoned me back and said they have camping from 7 to 11 Feb but the 12th they are fully booked and we can come back on the 13th, and they can only help us until the 18th! Eventually after another couples of calls we got confirmation from 7 to 19 Feb. The day we arrived we were told that there is no water, but it will be on the next day by 10H00 - well that did not happen - it took 3 days before we had water!!! The first evening they delivered a 5L drinking water and filled up some dustbins with water at the bathrooms for the toilets. They never filled the dustbins again. The 2nd day they said we can get a key to take a shower at the cabins - well at 9 O'clock at night there was still no water. The 3rd day they gave us a key and at least we could take a shower. Then 2 days later the electricity went off and needless to say after 2 days it was still not on. We packed up and left as the manager of the resort was hiding and left a poor little guy at the reception to receive all the complaints. We used to go there regularly for the past 10 years and needless to say no maintenance has been done since then. The shower that was leaking 3 years ago is still leaking. The washing line has not been replaced in 3 years. The ladies cleaning the bathroom cannot even say good morning and the same for the security guys - 3 of them and I am not sure what they are doing and why they are there. The bathrooms are not very clean actually they feel filthy. When we left we went to Sodwana Bay - what a breeze it was there. The bathrooms were immaculate, the staff was super friendly - everyone just wanted to help and it was cheaper.
