We are a family of five(Father, Mother, and three teens), I have been laid off for more than a year now so the only income is from side hustles and Mom's salary which is barely enough for the family. We always ate out on Fridays when things were going well financially. Due to our financial difficulties and the harsh realities of the economy in SA, we could no longer afford that luxury. We recently discovered Captain Doringos as we were filling petrol at the Shell Filling station along WF Nkomo in Pretoria West. We hesitantly went into Captain Doregos Restaurant, as it was not so popular we thought it was just one of those small outlets that we could not trust. Wow! we were blown away by their food offerings and pricing, the quality and standard of food was so so great. We ordered a platter of 1 Kg ribs(so well prepared and tasty) that came with jumbo crispy chips that could feed 6 people(a family of five plus my nephew) for just over R200. We returned to order burgers and other options available on the menu, it's affordable and the teens love the options available on the menu. I salute this shop I wish it could be available in other towns as it brings a different spin into the affordable dining-out outlets. It's the best place to eat with teens yet its most affordable in comparison to similar but popular outlets(KFC, Steers, Chicken Licken, etc), Captain Doregos has a variety of options that suit the whole family(Chicken, Ribs, Beef, Fish, etc). The beauty of it all is that you can eat whilst your car is being filled up and washed at the same time.

On the 12th April I went to buy bread and juice at Spar church street Bloemfontein and I saw a snoek fish special for R49,90 at Captain Doregos and I thought let me two. On arrival at my place the snowk was dry and tasted very offish. I then called the Doregos and asked ro speak to the manager who I explained the above to, she asked me to come back and i told her i stay very far from the store as i was just passing by I asked her to please also compensate my taxi fare that I will be using to return the two snoek fish and she was very rude in telling me that she can only give me a voucher and bot money. I am very dissapointed in this store and I am NEVER going to purchase anything from them

Worst experience ever at Captain Dorego’S, Aljo’s centre in Bloemfontein. No value for money, and rude personal. Don’t ever buy the single portion crumbed calamari strips as snack its not worth R35, I think the actual packaging it comes in is worth more. I wish we could upload the actual photo.
