Catch of the Day - Scam or just inefficiency?
Catch of the Day emails adverts out and happily allows you to order and pay. Then.....nothing. They promise delivery 14-21 days. Two months later ..... nothing. There was no promised email with tracking details. They do not respond to emails or messages through the website - I've tried 7 times. The phone number published is not theirs; the owner has been asking COTD to change it with no success. Finally, I got a phone number and spoke to Jessie, who said we don't have stock, we are waiting for a container, we don't know when it is coming. Yet they continue to advertise the same product and send out emails. So they've been sitting on my R 3 288 for 5 weeks and cannot tell me when I might get delivery. My recommendation - don't but from Catch of the Day - they are not to be trusted.

20 Mar 2023, 06:02I take back my previous comment. After finally getting a response from Catch of the Day, they resolved my problem. Indeed, they went out of their way to source a better product (at a discount) and Li delivered it personally.
He told me that the business had changed hands but that he is assisting them to resolve problems. As regards communication with customers, he says they have/are putting new procedures in place.
Time will tell, but this is very promising.

I take back my previous comment. After finally getting a response from Catch of the Day, they resolved my problem. Indeed, they went out of their way to source a better product (at a discount) and Li delivered it personally.
