Centracom's replyOfficial
03 Dec 2025, 10:28Good day, Luis.
Centracom, like other Tier One VoIP carriers such as Telkom, Vodacom and MTN, provides services to telecom wholesalers who then allocate numbers to their own clients. These clients are usually large banks, insurers and call centres.
Because of this setup, we don’t have direct visibility of the actual end user. We can’t identify who made a call from a specific number or who that number was originally issued to. This is standard across all major carriers, and none of us can be held directly responsible for how end users behave on the networks.
The calls you received may have come through our network, but the number would have been issued to one of our wholesale partners, who then assigned it to their client.
The POPI Act prevents us from disclosing the identity of that wholesaler. Even so, we’re committed to helping where we can.
If you can send the call details to our Service Desk on 011 695 9000 or service@centracom.co.za, we’ll contact the relevant wholesale partner and request that they instruct their client to stop contacting you. Please note that our involvement is limited by the regulatory constraints mentioned above.
Thank you for your understanding, and we’re here to assist where possible.
Kind Regards,
Centracom
Best regards,
