Be Very Carefull with the misleading way in which these guys are doing business. Also operating as ONE CALL Locksmiths. I had to assist my neighbour in an emergency situation where she locked herself out of her room and had to get her luggage to leave for an International flight. According to their Website and the message I received from them afterhours their call out fee is R295 and then the technician will determine the cost on site, based on the material and work done. I thought the call out fee was reasonable and expected the rest to be the same. He came out , drilled the lock open and replaced the damaged plastic handle with an old second hand handle without any lock or keys. All of this took him about 15 minutes. He the wanted me to pay him R3600 which I refused. He brought this down to R2600 which I was still not happy with but had to pay since we had to leave for the airport and he refused to leave the premises without the payment. I've made the payment and then messaged the owner to express my dissatisfaction with the cost with photos of the handle and an advert of the price of a complete new handle with lock and keys and requested him to review and refund me. He never responded nor taking my phone calls. I was and am more that willing to pay a fair and reasonable cost but to charge me R750 for a second hand piece of the handle without lock or keys plus another R1596 on top of the R295 call out fee is in my view ridiculous. Don't mislead people in an emergency situation. Be transparent with your cost and don't advertise a call out fee of R295 when you know your other fees are not in line with what you shared upfront. Like in most instances with an emergency, I did not check the reviews upfront but looking at the reviews afterwards it is quite evident from other reviews on both Centurion Locksmiths as well as ONE CALL Locksmiths that this is the modus operandi in most of the feedback.
