The worst financing company to ever sign up with. I have paid up arrears which theu call their job. They behave like lawyers. For every reminder or communication they charge you a fee, yet the bond is paid in full every month. Theu call their arrears collection fee, when its an indivudal job to give a courtesy call to a client to understand why there is a possible short payment, but when they charge you incorrectly and make mistakes on your bond statement, they dont pass credit for a call from the client. They listed me on ITC for an arrears realting to 2025, which has been paid up in December 2025, and I even over paid by R60. This is affecting my score and they refuse to clear it

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for the outstanding service I received during my home loan journey. A special thank you goes to Magrietha van Rensburg who assisted me. She was incredibly patient, welcoming, and professional throughout the entire process. Her support made what could have been a stressful experience feel smooth and manageable. I truly appreciate her dedication and the way she took the time to explain everything clearly, ensuring that I felt confident every step of the way. Thank you once again for the excellent service. It made a big difference, and I’m truly grateful. Warm regards, Matlawa RM

i bought an apartment through Chartwell in 2023, the agreed repayments of R897K including levies and water and electricity R10500 and now i'm paying R13 500 extra R2500 and getting charged for water and electricity on my statement by chartwell and Alphameter. How can you pay same thing twice? When you ask about it they it is shared property payments for for garden, electricity outside your unit. And yet the material used in the unit it of cheap cost because it breaks from time to time i had to fix my own bath tab when it was blocked. No one cares they want money at the end of each the month.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Chartwell Group Home Financing is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. Their client service is terrible—unresponsive, unhelpful, and completely lacking in professionalism. They overcharge without explanation, and when questioned, they fail to provide any clear breakdown of costs. Worse still, they manipulate the financing process to take ownership of the home you are trying to finance. Payments are inconsistent, with additional, unexplained charges appearing out of nowhere. It’s clear that they do not operate transparently or ethically. To make matters worse, they are not even recognized by the Ombudsman, meaning if you have an issue, there’s little recourse. Stay far away from this company unless you want to lose money and possibly your home!

They will convince you to take up their homeloan, telling you that you may terminate the agreement within 5 years, when you get to that point they will tell you in your face that they are refusing to terminate the agreement without providing you with the reason.
