Atrocious work done by Chris Willemse Painters

I am totally disgusted with the quality of paint work done to our house by Chris Willemse painters. I had mentioned to Mr Willemse, that the preparation of the walls was very important and he informed me that his painters knew what to do as they had done this work before. The two painters, who came to do the work, arrived every morning after 9 am and would leave at 3 pm to go home. There was no supervision and they did not have the necessary tools for the job. The broom was broken, they had no dust pan, no rags to clean up paint that dripped onto the wooden areas and the floor and no black bags to discard the dirt in. The drains were not covered while the prepping was being done and so all the debris clogged up the drains. When I mentioned this to Mr Willemse, he stated that they never cover the drains. They also threw left over paint into the outside kitchen drain and I was told they do this at every job. On the second day I could see that the two painters did not do the prepping properly and I contacted Mr Willemse, who then came to the house to inspect the work being done. He spoke to the painters, but nothing changed. There was still no proper supervision and I took it upon myself to check with the painters what they were going to do each day and I checked every few hours and showed them where they had slipped up. They worked all over the house and no proper system was followed. They kept on forgetting walls that still needed prepping and forgot wood that needed to be varnished. The varnishing work was catastrophic, with varnish splashed over the edges and onto the walls. When I queried this, I was told that the final paint would cover all the varnish that was on the walls. They were quick to ask for the payments, but after many emails to them complaining about the shoddy work, I refused to pay the next payment, which would have meant that they had received 90% for work that was not even 50% finished. I contacted Mr Willemse and asked for a meeting with him at the premises so that we could discuss this matter, but he refused and I was told to stop meddling in the work and to leave his painters to do the work and not to complain all the time and get involved. After my refusing to make the next payment until I had a meeting with Mr Willemse, a truck arrived and they loaded up all their goods and left the premises with the paintwork unfinished. Their attitude was atrocious and they were very rude and unprofessional in handling this whole matter and I will definitely never refer them to anybody.
