I bought a brand-new Citroën C3 in 2023, excited about what was promised to be a reliable and modern vehicle. Unfortunately, my experience has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. Just two weeks after purchasing the car, parts around the air conditioner button began coming off. At the 15,000 km service, I reported an issue with the petrol tank cap not closing, and despite it being under service, my car carpets were changed without explanation. To this day, I am still waiting for Westvaal Menlyn to provide replacement carpets – a delay of several months, with no clear feedback or resolution. At 30,000 km, I encountered a more serious issue: after rain, water began pooling in the spare wheel area, and both the radio and heater buttons stopped working. The dealership did a reset and managed to fix the issue temporarily. However, the root cause was not addressed. Now, at 45,000 km, the service plan has expired, and I am expected to pay for service on a car that has had repeated faults and was even subject to a recall in 2024. I am now driving a car that is barely 2 years old, with no working heater or radio – in cold winter conditions – while transporting my children. This is unacceptable for a “new” vehicle. It is clear to me that I was sold a faulty product, and the lack of accountability from Westvaal Menlyn and Citroën is incredibly disappointing. I am requesting urgent action to address the following: Proper repair of the heater and radio issues Resolution regarding the carpet replacement Clarification and support on recall-related repairs An explanation of why such a new vehicle has experienced multiple serious issues Citroën and Westvaal Menlyn, please take responsibility. Customers should not have to chase after basic support for a brand-new car that was meant to offer peace of mind.

Citroen Cape Town, last year September I purchased a new vehicle from Citroen, and I discovered today that the license disc and number plates are not the same, a service I paid them to take care of, if the law enforcement had stopped me my car would have been flagged as ****** or the worst possible scenario if I had gotten into a car accident the insurance would refuse to pay for my vehicle. How are you this negligent????

In January my daughter took her Car to a Dealer in Bloemfontein telling us the problem is the Vacuum Pump which they replaced. Directly after collecting the car the Engine Lights came back on. I phone Bloem and they told me they sold the Dealership to Volvo but will try and help out. After a trip from Vryburg to take the car back, after a few days they phoned and told me the engine lights are all gone. They got the car back just to have the same problem. My daughter took the car to Welkom Dealership which was closer. They ordered a Turbo after a diagnostic check was done. After more than a month they received the Turbo from overseas. They did the Turbo and just leaving the workshop the Turbo blew up. According to Welkom, Bloemfontein never did a Campaign test after replacing the Vacuum pump. They ordered another Turbo which took another month or so. After collecting the car the Engine light came back on. Now we are talking about car payment every month and Insurance never the less of all the money wasted on parts and petrol. They were forced to sell the car to a Dealership in Vryburg because she is a teacher and for such a long period of time without a car, she had no option. She lost R38 000.00 on the car because the problem is still occurring. I phoned Pako, a Manager from Citroen. After a few months i got the message they are not willing to help. My daughter's total of loss on her car was R100,745.66. Not even any help from Citroen. I think the service is pathetic.

Buy back, yeah shure, recall notifications , no way I bought a Citroen C4 cactus in 2015 and was told that they have a guaranteed buy back policy, there was a call back issued in 2020 for cambelt and tensioner and this was never communicated to me and the cambelt broke R36000 later got the car going , try selling it at cmh Citroen in umhlanga ,they don't buy cars above 100000 km and there was 2 call backs ,never communicated and they don't take responsibility. And they refuse to buy the vehicle with 138000 km on

Citroen Tygervalley Wow what bad customer service from Citroen Tygervalley. First I struggled to speak to somebody on 11 March due to apparent telephone problems at the branch. I eventually spoke to the manager who had be come in. My wife dribve a Citroen Cactus C4 of which the indicator light blow on the right side of the vehicle. I came in the afternoon and the mechanic took out the light and I was instructed to buy a new one that would be ordered from France on arrival that I can just bring the vehicle in and the light will be swopped. After more than a month I have heard nothing and had to follow up myself this morning, just to be told the part is already here at the branch. Now I have been informed that I have to pay R500 labor so that the light can be taken out and the new one replaced. The light was taken out under 1 minute in March when Neil at parts where explained you cannot just replace the bulb, but the whole light needs to be replaced. I this how you do business? I was specifically told I will be informed if the part arrives and can then just bring in the vehicle for the quick light swop. Now they want me to Pay for something that you said will get done quickly.

When buying a Citroen you might be appraised of their "Citroen serenity" plan. This plan mentions a courtesy car. Be aware that this perk is only available when you are awaiting parts, not when the car is going for a service. According to Citroen Pinetown

This review is about Citroen as a brand in South Africa. No specific dealership My uncle had a Citroen, which he probably owned for more than 20 years. My mom had a Citroen which she drove for approximately 22 years. Until they both purchased new cars, these Citroens served them perfectly well. When I bought my Citroen C3 in 2007, I was so proud of my first brand new car. I felt I bought into a brand that really care about the longevity of their cars and who will be with me every step of the way. I took care of my car as if I will drive it for a lifetime. At 15 years old, my interior fan stopped working. When I took the care in to check it out, they came back with a quote of R71,000. They say that my harness and wiring is brittle and shorting. They say that a secondary computer board blew. I was in tears when I spoke to the workshop manager who casually just remarked that that is not worth it and they will see what they can do when I trade it in. The dealer principal did say she will take it up with Citroen. They asked for my car back, but the quote still stands. I am so disappointed. I am so sad. I cannot believe that car manufacturer would not be proud of having their older vehicles on the road. I cannot believe they won't meet a customer half way. My car was never at the sea where it was in high humidity or exposes to rust. My car is 105k only on the clock. My car was always parked in the shade wherever possible. My car exterior looks brand new. I have never serviced my car anywhere else than authorised Citroen workshops. I advise anyone who wants to buy a Citroen out of loyalty or thinking that the car will last them well into the future, to rethink it. After pretty much 10 years or so, parts will be unavailable and exorbitantly expensive to import from France. Your car will be nothing more than an item to trade/sell as soon as possible. You will get no sympathy or empathy from Citroen.
